Players out of contract

Does anyone know which players are out of contract this summer?
I think I read Kamada was and I haven't heard anything about a new contract if that is correct.
I guess he would go wherever Glasner ends up as that seems to be what happens. If he does go then I think it will be a shame. He took a while and some some stick before he settled in but has proved to be much more than I expected after the first few months.
Anyone know who else?

I thought the first Premiership season without Zaha was going to be dramatic and dangerous.

This makes that look small scale.

We are going to need strong replacements.....I know, most obvious statement ever.

One of those seasons coming up where it's going to look almost like a new team.

According to my records, the following will be out of contract:
  • Kamada
  • Clyne
  • Lerma
We did have an option (or obligation) to sign Uche on a 4 year deal at the end of his loan. I'm assuming that won't happen.

Guessand's loan ends, so it's a question of whether or not we choose to buy him.
I'm not aware of any others although I believe Kaden Rodney's contract may be up this summer.

Those likely to be sold because they refuse to extend or sign new contracts and then demand to leave that on top of Kamada and Lerma give us the unripe pickles.

Yep.

I think Mateta, Wharton, Munoz and Lacroix are the most likely 'bigger name' departures. Thought it also wouldn't shock me if a lot of money was offered up for Sarr (IMHO our best player).

Let's say 3-5 of the above leave, that's a chunk of the first team needing replacement, then add onto that bolstering the squad with other departures.

Might be fanciful, but perhaps a new manager with a newish looking squad might bring some (positive) excitement back to Selhurst!

What's makes it extra scary is that due to 48 million for Larsen and the coming 28 million for....what's his name from Villa, all the above replacements will come from sales income from these mostly proven world class players.....Gulp.

Along with the new manager we have a situation where these replacements will mostly decide whether we are next season's West Ham or not.

Agreed and there is an eery similarity on the timings: West Ham came up in 2012 and went down this year after trophy success and poor recruitment. We came up in 2013. Let's hope 13 years is not the shelf life for clubs our size.

The thing which worries me more than this is Hobbs. The rot set in at Wolves and poor recruitment was seen as a major reason. Since he came to Palace I see a big downgrade in the players coming in to the club despite the financial outlay.

We need a window or two of very astute and successful business to build for the next three seasons. Get that wrong and we will be struggling in the league.

Kamada is 30 in August so passing his peak. It would have been useful to keep him 2 more years, but he wants to leave. Same with Lerma. Mateta and Richards have only a year left. If possible sign Richards for a few more years. Mateta wants to leave so might as well cash in. Mitchell I think signed an extension. All the others we would want to extend are contracted for 2 or 3 more years so no urgency there. Nothing we can do if any have cash release clauses though. We need a couple of central midfielders, a right back, a centre back and a striker to replace those leaving (assuming Mateta is sold). Upgrading any of the others is a bonus. Expecting Wharton and/or Lacrouix to get bought for big money, but hopefully they will stay.

If we win tonight, we might need even more than that.

Player fatigue was a significant factor this season.

This might influence the choice of manager: someone who is more willing to give minutes to the younger players could alleviate that first XI workload. One or two of them might flourish and turn into the next Mitchell or Wan Bissaka.

Based on what I saw this year I think there are three or four academy players who could potentially do really well for us, plus Ozoh out on loan whom I like a lot.

I thought Rio did well, I think Devenny is a good championship level.

We have some talent like Thomas and a young keeper but unless we can keep hold of them it's academic.

When you introduce young players you really have to have a strong team that's doing well as they are going to be instantly focused upon by the opposition as a weak link.

As do the Derby fans.

Agreed on all points and I think with an astute one or two windows we will have that strong team.

A few of our better players (Wharton, LaCroix, Munoz, Mateta, dare I say it Henderson and Sarr) have been with the club a couple of years so you would hope at least some of them do want to stay more than seeing us as a pathway to somewhere else.

I think the first four, won't be here come the first game of the new season.

Hope I'm wrong but my head tells me otherwise.

I doubt Henderson goes and I think Sarr doesn't interest the top teams due to his age for the position he plays. Let's hope so anyway.

Will be sorry to see Lerma go - plenty to still give effectively for at least a one year extension unless he is proactively seeking a club abroad for final career-stage hurrah.

I hope not the guys done at this level.

If true shows again lack of ambition we should be moving forward not sticking with these old players which just make numbers up.
Lerma is a good backup player for holding midfield and centre back. He is not a first team starter but at the momemt the squad needs back up players like Lerma, Hughes and Devenny. If we get better players in then Lerma can be sold in August rather than just let him leave for free in July.

No he's not he is past it did you even watch him when he played this season he was awful in every game he featured apart from odd 1.

There is no point having people who don't compete we need to move beyond this just having backups happy to sit there to fill out required numbers.

Lerma contract expires this summer if extended like the other post mentioned we have chosen to do that without even having a new manager deciding.
