People who did a ton of work for modest Financial reward

Location

Country

either on purpose or by a poor run of events.....

'a ton of work' = added a lot of value, even if it was only the single afternoon that that bloke wrote down the rules for association Football.

'Financial Reward' = any material gains.

- Alan Turing.......Computer innovator & code-breaker

- Mother Therese of Calcutta.............on purpose

- Mozart

- Tim Berners Lee......inventor of the WWW

- Vivaldi wrote the music.......Nigel Kennedy lodged the big cheque into the bank account.

- Queen Elizabeth II

- Van Gogh

- Oppenheimer.............got crucified for being a Commie in the McCarthy Era.

- Saladin......eschewed wealth...therefore 'on purpose' , meanwhile Napoleon was as greedy as a stuffed Corsican pig.

Different to the previous thread, this thread includes the Famous & the powerful, and also those whose contribution is difficult to measure. Like the anonymous selfless Tommies remembered in the Cenotaph.

what others ?

The labourers who built the pyramids. Perhaps generations of them. There aren't many mansions or affluent houses near the pyramids, which makes me think they were close to minimum wage 🙂
