One of the benefits of being FA Cup winners (and stuffers of Liverpool) is the massive amount of extra TV coverage, not just at home but around the world. We are scheduled for 15 EPL matches until 7th January when last year we had 17 for the whole season. TV is also covering 11 cup matches (12 with the Community Shield) until the end of December when last season we had 9 in total.
Besides the additional TV fees this brings challenges such as switching dates and times and greater demand for tickets. However, I would much rather have football tourists coming to watch Palace through the correct sources than the Liverpool and ManU glory hunters who seem to turn up beside me bought through touts masquerading as authorised ticket sellers.
Whilst Gatwick Duty Free outlets still refuse to sell our shirts it was encouraging to see a rioter in Tanzania proudly wearing what looked like a replica Palace shirt splashed over the news.
