Well, yes, not being a huge club limits Palace’s financial resources.Nothing really to do with financially.
Palace are not a big enough club.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, Grumpy.Nothing really to do with financially.

To think, we spent £150 million on that lot. Really not good. It’s done though. No point in crying over spilt milk. I am not writing any of that group off but they all need to pull their socks up. Meanwhile if we lose Lacroix, we should bring in the guys that Sage wants with that money.
The issue is that as all the above underperformers are on big wages and were bought for excessive transfer fees it will hinder our buying ability over the next few years.
It's similar to the Benteke and Sakho purchases. Both were bought before Roy joined and were on mega wages. Roy never had much to spend in the next few years as we were paying for those two.

Perhaps Monsieur Sage will get a tune out of these players.Yes that is my big concern. We desperately need a couple of them, somehow to find some form... Or pray some desperate Saudi club with no sense come in for them.

One hears about "one and two touch football".This is the amount of touches that Johnson has in an entire game !!Indeed. Hopefully the wise old Sage can work miracles and do the following: help Nketiah not strain his hamstring every time he plays mildly effective for two consecutive games, teach Strand-Larsen how to control a ball and not get bullied by defenders, invite França to more than two training sessions a year and finally the biggest challenge try to get Johnson to touch the ball during a football match.
He certainly has his work cut out for him. França and Nketiah have made a decent start though!

You’re just being silly now 🤣Every time I see this thread at the top of the talk thread….I get excited we’ve actually signed someone 🙏
Freedman was at Palace when both Lacroix and Kamada were signed.Perhaps we should have appointed Glasner as head of scouting!
He was instrumental in our signing of Lacroix and Kamada.
Another of his selections, Tzolis, we weren't able to get across the line this time last season, but it's noteworthy that Arsenal have just signed him so I would think he has quality.
It also looks like Forest are going to sign Diomande, who Glasner wanted as a replacement for Guehi this time last season until Diomande suffered a lenghty injury.
He again looks to be a quailty player.
I know you despise Glasner, but in fairness he does have an eye for a player.Freedman was at Palace when both Lacroix and Kamada were signed.

We are not allowed to buy players unless they are injured. 😀Serious thigh injury? Probably no major cause for alarm, most players pick up injuries after all, but past experience raises a bit of concern.

Glasner has just signed capable and experienced midfielder Xaver Schlager from RB Leipzig on a 'Free', a player who played under him at Wolfsburg.Perhaps we should have appointed Glasner as head of scouting!

Now, where have we heard that before? Whatever one thinks of Glasner, one thing is clear - his ex-players are keen to join up with him. Yes, I know Kamada stuck with us but I suspect he wondered just how long OG would Last at Forest and at his age, he couldn't afford to take the chance, especially as he can expect to get regular football at Palace and that we're not a club that fires people on a whim (FdB excepted because he was a real t*sser.Glasner has just signed capable and experienced midfielder Xaver Schlager from RB Leipzig on a 'Free', a player who played under him at Wolfsburg.
