Palace Fans Against Racism

Most of the palace games I attended were in the 1980s. One bad comment is all I ever heard.

These were meant to be the bad old days of rascism.

A lot of organisations only survive if they can find or make up problems.

I'd certainly like to see some proof of actual rascist abuse.

Mark Bright before he came to Palace, had complained of rascist abuse at Leicester.

Steve Coppell was able in part to sign Bright, because he told him you won't get that here.

Best way of dealing with rascism and abuse is to laugh at it or ignore it. The bullies will soon stop.

Let's call it what it is - anti white propaganda.

The following is a list of what has been reported:

Apparently a group of 20-30 in a certain part of the ground. They have their own twitter page. They have been heard singing Tommy Robinson chants at Selhurst. Stickers in the ground. Mateta racist chant heard several
times this season at different locations
Stickers have appeared at away games for last 18 months or more.

Fredrikstad:
Palace Stop the boats flag made first appearance
Pro Tommy Robinson chants
Stickers

Lublin:
Stickers
Racist chants about Mateta

Strasbourg:
Stickers in Irish Bar
Racist chants about Mateta
Fight with HF
Mixed race lad "jumped"
Racist comments "called p***
(Reported in Guardian 6/12/26)

Jan 26. Chelsea game Chalobah called a black b****** "fan" ejected. LH block G.

Larnica:
Flag, Stickers.
Anti Catholic and IRA songs in pub.
Witnessed baiting HF at the game.

Leipzig:
Stickers++, Flag in ground, restore Britain flag.
Racist group attacked by Rayo/German Ultras after Rayo fans abused, flag spotted.

Son Racist gesture a few years ago.
How is Tommy Robinson racist?

You are the problem mate.

My family is brown and you don't speak for us.

Has Mateta complained or are you speaking on his behalf too.

Refugees not welcome here is most probably referring to the illegals Refugees coming over by boat.

You just want to ban anything that upsets you which is legitimately free speech.
You must be a very weak man.

You have no proof of rascism, get a life

Educate yourself on Tommy Robinson, not what others tell you.

In answer to some of the points raised.

You do not have to be left, or indeed right to be anti-racist.

To those who accuse me of bringing politics into football/palace aren't those bringing the flags and stickers to our ground and whilst following palace political messages.

Whilst I agree the flags and stickers aren't racist in themselves, they provide a simple statement-"you're not welcome here". Is that in line with our diverse community in SE25 and beyond? Do you think it will encourage fans from such backgrounds to attend Selhurst?

Should we turn a blind eye to those chanting racist chants about Mateta (clue: it rhymes with Boom), calling other players a black b******* or so called fans singling out others for the colour of their skin. Because if you do, you're part of the problem.
Sounds to me like you're trying to force your views and beliefs onto other people. Forget the Mateta chants, you will never get rid of a tiny tiny minority who do that in public but what would you think of someone who agreed with all those flags and stickers in the images you posted earlier?

He is welcome to try and force his beliefs on people. All we have to do is ignore him.

What he wants to do is gain favour with the club and gain political influence from other areas.

He wants to police our free speech.

There will be plenty of organisations that will fund such an enterprise I'd guess

The boats are only a part of the problem. I would hazard a guess most of the illegals come in on planes with dodgy passports.
the 1800s US was populated by poor working people from everywhere. They got jobs, paid their way, and no problem.

in 2026 Western Europe 'stop the boats' is really about providing free benefits to legions of newcomers to sit on a local Park bench smoking drugs and making a nuisance of themselves.

I've been watching Palace home and away since 2009. In that time I've never heard or witnessed anything that could be described as racism at games. I see no need for any anti racism campaign at Palace. There is always a good vibe and camaraderie between Palace fans in my experience. Obviously there will always be isolated problems of all types when 25,000 people gather in one place.

I like to enjoy my football without politics.

The responses on this post sadden me.

Only just read it but so predictable as soon as I saw the thread title.

Been at a few of the European trips and witnessed some of the behaviour, language and chants that the group in question used first hand.

Absolutely no interest in supporting Palace; just singing political songs and creating a nasty and intimidating atmosphere for others, including families.

People can debate as to whether particular stickers or slogans are racist or not - still doesn’t stop this group being utter wrong’uns that have caused problems for the club (with several banned from travelling).

Nobody here has said they approve of those chants have they? If so, quote them here.
