Palace Fans Against Racism

I'd like to think I generally am moderate.

I think you've got to be a bit crackers to be racist, homophobic or whatever. And so what the OP is espousing here isn't something I could judge him for. However, I take issue at people's concerns with mass immigration being automatically branded racist. Sure, racist people get on board with that doesn't automatically mean that everybody that's concerned about immigration is racist. It's a subtle nuance that is overlooked and it becomes a sticking point when trying to find a common ground on such an emotive subject.

The OP's strategy was a common naivety that so often prevents the subject being discussed sensibly. Alienating the people you hope to educate is a fatal error. Talk to them about their opinion rather than labelling it with a nefarious motive you've simply decided upon.
A bit like that twit who turned his Leipzig blog into a political message. Why can’t these people see we’re not interested in their crusades?

I was put off reading it because of all the comments he got. But yes. The trouble is, when you preach to people who had no intention to cause any harm they start to resent the preaching.

If this guy takes some of these comments on board and re-evaluates the things that could be categorised as genuine racism, reaches out for proper discussion instead of insults he could really make some inroads into something which would be good to finally eradicate. Otherwise I fear that only his echo chamber will remain engaged and that very little will be achieved.

I hope he proves me wrong, honestly.

The chances of that happening are slim and none 😬.

In answer to some of the points raised.

You do not have to be left, or indeed right to be anti-racist.

To those who accuse me of bringing politics into football/palace aren't those bringing the flags and stickers to our ground and whilst following palace political messages.

Whilst I agree the flags and stickers aren't racist in themselves, they provide a simple statement-"you're not welcome here". Is that in line with our diverse community in SE25 and beyond? Do you think it will encourage fans from such backgrounds to attend Selhurst?

Should we turn a blind eye to those chanting racist chants about Mateta (clue: it rhymes with Boom), calling other players a black b******* or so called fans singling out others for the colour of their skin. Because if you do, you're part of the problem.

Racism is illegal and a matter for the police. Why do we need people like you? Answer. We don’t.

Go and peddle your virtue signalling somewhere else.

Don't forget Hamas and Palestine flags in the holmesdale at the home Liverpool game in 2024 on the anniversary of October 7th terrorist attack.

I trust you also reported this to the club?

I can’t see most People accepting outright racism whether at Selhurst or anywhere and there are already procedures in place to report that. Pretty sure the club would ban anyone caught doing so or is that not the case?

When it comes to flags, I’d be happy to see the political flags kept out, so long as it’s balanced e.g not a case of Palestine flags are fine but not Israel

The anti racism mob are always leftists. They are also highly selective about what they call racism when it suits them.
'In short, anything they don't agree with is racism, and anything they support isn't.

Racism is always wheeled out as a political tool. As I said earlier, any actual racism is a matter for the police. Even then, in this day and age, the police are being used as a political tool themselves.

It makes one very cynical.

The OP comes across as a bit of a dick, who seems to be seeking some relevance and attention.
He originally championed the PPG (Palace Protest Group), and now it's the PFAR.
I'm picturing an image of Wolfie Smith/Frankie Abbott/Swampie, trying to manufacture a purpose for himself from his bedroom at his mum's house.
Just stop trying to create problems that are not really there. Just recognise that in a crowd of 25,000 people, there may be a few that have different views to you, and get on with it.

Thank God he hasn’t got a season ticket next to mine !

There becomes a real problem when you shift the threshold of what constitutes racism to the point that you re-categorise your allies as enemies. It seems a perverse way to rally support.

It's also disingenuous to say A, B, C and D are 'bad' and when challenged on item D, create a strawman that's championing A, B and C.

I fear the OP crumbled when initially challenged and created an inflated list of evidence to give gravitas to the situation. It's weakened his argument considerably.

Nothing racist there boy, free speech. Was anyone arrested? You mention stickers, the hf, put stickers everywhere & has done for the last 10 years or so. You mentioned a fight with the hf, hardly, they ran away. Is that racist? I've had a fight with the hf, 2 ended up in hospital, am I racist? I'd stick to the bbs, where you're more welcome, unless, of course, that is racist. Just saying 😏
I, and I'm sure others, would be very keen to hear more about your 'fight with the HF'. Do tell us more please.
