Noocastle

Not sure I understand the dislike of Howe shown on this board. Look at his record. It's rather good.
I think he’s always come across as a bit smarmy, full of himself and not willing to give us any credit in interviews after games he’s played against us with the toon and Bournemouth.
But yes, especially as English managers go, he’s proving to be a decent manager

Appreciate the fact that Newcastle have not won a cup fot five decades but even so felt everyone in the media has gone rather OTT. It is after all not as though they wont he PL -or even the more prestigious FA Cup.
Would be interesting to see the reaction if Palace were to win another trophy !

This is the very antithesis of Eddie Howe.
He is not a blowhard with an ego sprouting as rapidly as 'Clematis Montana'.

He's not trying to appease our fans. He has to keep his own fans on his side and tell them what they want to hear. Especially the Newcastle ones.

I would expect the same if he were ever our manager.

Never used to mind the Geordie's but then they got all Barry Bigbollocks when the oil money came in and the lazy players actually started putting in a shift for the first time once they saw the bags of money coming through the door.

Anthony Gordon looks like a sour faced piece of work, so I'm glad he wasn't on the pitch for a piece of the joy on the weekend.

It's more the media treatment that gets up my nose. They go over the top because he looks like an England manager in waiting.

He has a decent record but he blotted his copybook when Bournemouth were relegated. He was unable to turn their awful run around, much like Pardew, and that is my benchmark for a good manager.

He then got lucky getting the Newcastle job at the same time as the money poured in.

People like honest managers though who say it how it is, especially in defeat, not delusional ones. Brendan Rodgers was always king of the delusional, the Ten Hag took that crown, it was hard to believe you was watching the same game sometimes

Eddie Howe took Bournemouth from Division 2 to the PL. They were relegated by a single point in 'Lockdown' season.

That's what a 'bullet' header looks like (Dan Burn).

More like a missile. I remember a Scott Dann effort winning a game for us.

The scousers bound to run out of steam at some stage, they usually get back up quickly.

It bored me quite frankly.

I think that's harsh based on what he achieved at Bournemouth, and where they were when they took over.
His first crack at being a PL manager - a very different gig to the rest of the league, you can forgive him one failure. If there was a blot on his copybook it's the Burnley job.

I think he's since proven he can cope in the PL. His teams aren't the most consistent performers, but when they're good, they're good.
