No FA Cup Parade After Final Home Game?

Am I the only person who hung around last night after our final home fixture for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the FA Cup paraded around a nearly-packed Selhurst Park by the victorious squad.
There was a great atmosphere pre-game and throughout most of the match and it seemed 90%ish of fans remained after the final whistle.
The squad/manager/coaches/Chairman did a walk around of the pitch, but meanwhile the trophy itself seemed to be in possession of some random people / hangers on around the centre circle, who were very pleased with themselves, taking pictures in possession of the cup for their own amusement.
Bit of a let-down after a great weekend and final game.

I am sure you are not alone TonyMikeJoe. It did look like an after thought which was a slight irritation as the cup final days were one of the biggest days of the year when I was a kid (Christmas Day, Birthday, Cup Final) so I've been fixated on this trophy from some of my earliest memories in my life.

But my patience was rewarded when Steve Parish did raise the trophy in front of the Arthur Wait and I was happy then. Though a lot of people had to leave before then.

Talking about an FA Cup Parade, we have been told to "save the date" so that we can attend a parade through Croydon Streets. So far, no news from the Club.

Any news anyone?

Yes we was a bit disappointed, great send off for Joel, but as far as the lap of honour, it was poor, the players and the trophy got swallowed up by all the massive amount of family members on the pitch. Nice for the families, but this was a moment for the players and fans. They should’ve cleared the pitch and had just the players walking round with the trophy.
Shame because otherwise it was an enjoyable night and as I said a great send off for Joel

Agree with that. Waited for ages near the corner of the Lower Holmesdale. Players never came near us. Never saw the Cup either. Had to wait ages too, after all the speeches. Sadly underwhelming. And yes, I had gone by the time Steve P showed the cup to the Arfur.
Still a great match last night and a fabulous after-glow from Saturday.

I feel bad criticising the club after the greatest achievement in our history but have to agree with the above.

The lap of appreciation took too long and we didn’t see enough of the players showing off the trophy to the fans. I finally managed to get a photo of Eze lifting the cup in front of the Holmesdale at around 11pm

Was expecting a Wimbledon tennis style walk around but instead had to wait ages while various family members etc had their photos taken. That could have come after the players walkaround.

Hopefully the victory parade will be better choreographed.

In fairness....it was a Tuesday night and late. Everyone the players and supporters were probably still wrecked from the weekend.

The final is usually the last game of the season with no other home games scheduled.

Yep, they ballsed this up. Nice speeches from Wardy, Parish and Glasner, but they should have been mindful that so many fans hung around after a midweek game to see it get paraded.

Players should have circled the pitch with the trophy at the front. That's all we wanted.

Can only presume they were holding it back for Monday, but I don't think we'll get sick of seeing it again.

I was also disappointed with the so called lap of appreciation last night. The start of the match with the teams coming out was great as was the atmosphere throughout the game. Then we had a long wait before players / staff came out slowly to make a line so that JW could come out. Then we had speeches which followed which were great again. However, the lap after that was long and boring. I waited to see the cup held aloft by the team but it didn’t happen sadly. The finish to the night was just disorganised which spoilt it for me :-( But we did win the FA Cup and qualified for Europe as well as a Charity Shield match next August at Wembley (again) 🙂
