We do drag our heals sometimes, but like you say, who cares? Getting new gaffers and players in is not an easy process and If people can’t trust our leader Parish now they never will
 
No point rushing and getting a wrongun, It’s about trying to get the best, who are probably hanging about to see if they get a better offer.

You wouldn’t go to a nightclub (when you was 18) and go straight over to some rough ginger bird as soon as you walk in would you? You’d start chatting to a few fit ones, they might act half interested, but are hanging about for someone that’s got a motor. You might be lucky and nick a gooden every now and then, but the rough ginger one will always be there and double grateful. And shes called Sean dyche.

Why must we leave everything until the last minute. You can see this going right down to the wire again, missing good candidates as other clubs pick up contenders and missing out on players because they have no idea who they will be playing for or how they will be playing. A very strange way to run things.

I was really getting excited for the rough ginger bird thinking it was going to be Angela Raynor. Ruined it with the ending mate.
 
To use an Ian Holloway type analogy,.... "It's getting late in the evening, and our options are reducing as all the good looking ones have already been bagged by the blokes with the flash motors. Unless a fit looking bird becomes available before chucking-out time, we might be left with that ugly fat ginger northerner in the corner."

Looks like a verbatim quote.
It's an ill wind when a leopard can't change it's tune in midstream but Rome wasn't built with a single step and a miss is as good as a penny earned when beggars can't be only skin deep so don't count your chickens before the horse's shoe fits although he who hesitates laughs longest and the early bird knows it's always darkest when the proof of the pudding is paved with more fish in the sea.

Are we witnessing the death of the old school English football manager?
Dyche may be going the way of Pulis, Allardyce and Bruce before him.

Associated with a particular brand of football that does not attract owners, while perversely the teams themselves have reverted to a more direct form of football ( note the prevalence of long throws, set piece emphasis, ‘put it in the mixer’ this season).
The very type of football in which these coaches were perceived to have thrived.

Bring back Dave Bassett, leaving the grass long, central heating full on in the summer in the opposing changing rooms together with cold water in the showers.

I doubt Sage would specialise in these areas.

In fairness there are elements of set pieces you highlight that are "old school". But the game itself is largely anything but direct these days. It's micro managed to the nano degree.

Steve Parish has got it in the bag. I reckon he's already got someone up-for-it to sign a pre-nuptial agreement, pending the start of the new season.
Parish is that confident, he's already changed the bottom sheet and pillow cases and put on a fresh duvet cover 👍 :football:
