I don't want to be a Debbie Downer but who was the last coach to successfully make the transition from Ligue 1 to the Premier League?
I just don't want another Will Still.
Le Bris at Sunderland - my manager of the year. He took everybody's favourites this year for relegation into Europe.
He has built a really solid team very quickly.

Sounds like our next management team will be the cast of The Magic Roundabout. Hopefully he will be a wise old Sage .
You mean The Herbs, Parsley the Lion as assistant, Lord Basil for set pieces, Lady Rosemary for the women's team, Dill the Dog for the under 18s and the chives for the academy. A veritable footballing bouqet garni - I can't wait.

He was a very friendly lion named Parsley

I did think of Le Bris but as he's only had the one season I felt it was a bit early to judge, as good as that season has been.

No that was Dylan in the Magic Roundabout, Dill was a manic terrier who used to run round in circles, sort of canine Will Hughes. The Herbs was by Michael Bond of Paddington fame, narrated by Michael Horden if I remember correctly.
Wow , im just getting to 2 muddled up must have been all the slaps round the head i got as a young lad . Boing Time for bed said Zebedee .

Just did a quick AI search and it is more than you think albeit some did not directly come from Ligue 1:

  • Arsene Wenger - Nancy and Monaco
  • Gerard Houllier - PSG and Lens
  • Unai Emery - PSG
  • Claudio Ranieri - Monaco and Nantes
  • Pochettino - PSG
These are the highlights, there are quite a few others

Yes but can you find one who has had success in a leading premier league team?
