Newcastle Predictions.

Newcastle fans are an entitled bunch. They seem to think they were stitched up over the Guehi transfer, and can’t believe the player didn’t insist on going there. They think with all the oil money their owners have they should be signing who they want, and they are the best club in the world so every star player deserves a chance to play in gale force winds, zero degrees in front of fat shirtless fans, and to live the dream of a drive in Greggs. Perhaps I should move back to London!
You're not wrong about entitlement, they are also a whinging bunch as well . . . It will be bloody wonderful if we can shut them up

A, lot, of geordie clickbait is saying Bruno & Joelinton are out, wouldn't bet on it. Took this off the bbc . . .

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe started with some team news: "[Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton] have a chance to play. Not serious injuries, so we will make a decision today."

Did Howe say if Guehi was available or not?

No we don't.

But you crack on with, whatever this is.👍

From the way Glasner was talking about only starting players who are on top of their game and fully match fit I will be surprised to see Eze start, but he is at least back in the squad along with Nketiah. I expect the same starting XI as started at Villa.

I might have read to much into another bit, specifically asking player to play at 100% and if they need to come off at HT, so be in. Better that then playing the 90 at 80%

Genuinely hard to drop Devenney - even for Eze in my mind. But maybe having Devenney breathing down his neck will focus Eze's wayward thoughts.

Can’t beat a bit of competition to sharpen a player up, maybe Eze had become a bit complacent

My criticism of him would mainly be taking too many people on rather than set up someone in a better position. Maybe he's under instruction to do that, however. He certainly looks like he's been told to take on long shots. Unless he just does what he likes.

I think he’s had to drop deep to get the ball a lot rather than being able to play in and around opposition defences. Wharton’s fitness and form has meant our distribution from midfield hasn’t been great. Added to that he has played a bit with Nketiah on the other side of the attack. Nketiah has regularly been out of position, hasn’t had good movement and hasn’t held the ball up well. That’s meant Eze has often looked isolated. Combined with teams doubling up on him in a way they couldn’t when Olise was there and I can see why he’s not been that effective.

Having said all that hopefully Sarr and JPM continue linking up well like last week and offering a threat in behind. That should create space and options for Eze. Also agree competition for places is a good thing

The way Ollie was talking he doesn’t expect Eze to play 90 minutes so I suspect both he and Devenny will feature. Starting Eze in the hope he can get us ahead would seem reasonable but he feels the last 30 minutes of the game is the most crucial. I wonder if he might start with Devenny and keep Eze up his sleeve for the last half hour. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!
Either way I’m going for 2-1 Palace. COYP!
