Nuno is rubbish and Frank seemed to lose it at Spurs. I think Dyche is less tainted and the most basic. I believe we have to go back to basics.
Tottenham finished in 17th place the season before Frank 'Took up the reins'.
He departed with Tottenham 16th after 26 PL games.
His last PL win was the 1-0 win against us at Selhurst Park.
His signings at Tottenham included Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudos, Conor Gallagher, Xavi Simons, Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel.

So what you saying Willo? Yes or no?🤣

It pains me to say it AS, but I make you right, not a fan of Dyche, but desperate times need desperate measures and sadly he is probably the best fit for us at the moment
Not sure they’ll be renaming the Clifton ‘The Sean Dyche Arms’ though

Frank was sacked in February by the Spuds. We should of gone in then as Glasner had already said he wanted to leave. Our form was dreadful end of season, papered over by a Cup win in which we were one of the favourites. How many times has a team carried a manager through half a season? We are not Pool and Klopp. Fraid we should of got Glasner out when he wanted to leave. With the amount of points we had in the bag and the Cup any half decent manager would of got us over the line and had time to build a team.
I couldn't agree more that action should have been taken much sooner.
We've been sliding downhill for some time and the further we get the less appealing we become.

Call me selfish, but:
What I find especially frustrating is that the progress that was made under Glasner which has provided a springboard for further success is being undone with the current manager and scouting setup. Since we now seem to be recruiting players from the European leagues, and with European football at Selhurst we are currently more appealing to future players and managers than a lot of Premier league teams, I think the next appointment needs to come sooner rather than later.

To my mind, Thomas Frank tops the, less than inspiring, list of potential and available candidates.

Personally though, I'd love to see a statement made, the financial side of the appointment being ignored (after all, what's £10m when you've already spunked nearly £200m on dross) and someone like Jose Bordalas at Getafe or Inigo Perez at Rayo.

Anyway, Rant over and bring on the Scousers!
Wouldn't it just be typical Palace if we turned them over tomorrow and gave Pierre a temporary reprieve?

If we are fighting relegation (and we are) then Premier League experience has to be a prerequisite for the new manager. We can’t afford for a manager to have an adjustment period to a new league otherwise the hill will be too steep to climb. We just tried bringing in an up and coming manager from a club not that different in stature to the two you mention. It has been a total disaster so far.

I understand where you are coming from, but I feel that a period of consolidation was in order to cement whatever it is assumed Glasner achieved previously. Instead the board have gone in the opposite direction, opting for a manager with a gung ho approach without the tools to do so. Form was obviously going backwards in the final year of Glasner's reign, let's not fool ourselves with the win in the mickey mouse Conference Cup.

There is nobody on that list that would warrant sacking our current first team coach .
I have to agree.

Sacking managers is rubbish, the upheaval, the starting again feeling. It doesn't look like Sage can do it, but we do have to give any manager (unless they poison the club, like De Boer) enough time to implement his ideas.

And our defensive personnel is way weaker this season. Disasi has ability but seems to be a massive shambles of a bloke. The rest, apart from Richards, are either too inexperienced or too injury-prone.

It's a hard ask for anyone to create a solid defensive unit with that lot.

JHB and PTB,
You are both 'the voice of reason' and I suspect those at the Club have more football knowledge in their little finger than I will ever have but didn't we have 12 long boring years of EPL consolidation prior to Ollie?

Again, It's only my humble opinion and probably clouded by my general dislike for the Premier League but having recruited players, presumably to fit a system (although I think most are struggling to work out what system that is!) I'm not sure we have the players now to dig in and fight.

I fear we're Doomed and come 5pm on Sunday will be further down the pan than an OAP's bollocks!!

I think we do give managers time. We gave Glasner time. The start to our first full season under him was not at all good but we gave him the time when we might have knee jerked. Equally we gave Viera time to implement playing out from the back.

If you look at managers we’ve sacked it was only really when the results made their positions untenable that we did it or in the case of FdB when we realised he was completely toxic

Yes, that's one way of putting it, and of course I myself and others felt that we were treading water to a certain extent. But saying that, it's the nature of the league. A club with financial resources like Palace will not have year after year winning trophies. And as we have seen, after some moderate success the best players will be tempted away. This we have seen to be true. It's the same for every other club, even those with a bigger budget - success isn't guaranteed, it has to be worked for, within a professional and competent framework. I think we've slipped in this regard, hence our current position.

Maybe true, but we at least need to make the best of what we have. And fight for survival with percentage football. We have little choice now. We can go down fighting at least. Not whimpering and flattering to deceive.

Fair point,
A bit of fight would make me happy.
It is, or was, the Palace way!
Hoping we can start tomorrow...'Crippled Alice Comes Good' sounds more like a dodgy porno than a headline but you never know 😆

How can you expect players to play for a manager who has publicly declared via the club that he intends to leave at the end of the season ? This present turmoil was frankly inevitable, not just based on this season but last.

If Sage goes, then for me, it's Vitor Pereira, for two main reasons...

1. He turned Forest's fortunes around last season and a lot of Forest fans were pi$$ed he was replaced as they felt he got the best out of their squad...which brings me on to number 2...

2. If he did turn our fortunes around and Glasner continued to struggle at Forest, it would add an extra layer of irony cream for the fat man.

3. He does also seem more tactically flexible than Sage or Glasner, utilising both a back 3 and a back 4.

He'll do, especially if it pisses on Muddyknickers pancakes!
