New Archbishop of Canterbury

She is clearly a waste of space. The Anglican Church is a joke in this country.

It's about time the clergy was kicked out of the House of Lords.

I know this sentiment will upset some of my friends on here, but the church is now just a mouthpiece for wokery and idealistic liberal mumbo jumbo.

How many people actually care about The Archbishop or what he/she thinks? She is an unelected religious fanatic.

Don't get me started on the God bothering.

is she a Christian for abortion too ?

She may as well line-out for Glasner against Everton. She will be no more out of place, between Guehi & Kamada , than heading up a Christian church.

I'm an atheist and can't find fault in this, but feel you might be holding back.

Charlie Kirk was a proper christian and the media keeps calling him 'Far Right'.
I have no time for religion, however, a person's faith is their business.

I'm certainly not in favour of mixing religion with politics. Ideals might be inspired by religious teaching, but when I want to watch political speeches I don't want to go to church.

Anyone who opposes the established doctrine is 'far right'. It's just a stick.

the so-called Far Right probably has lots of ideas about the individual's duties to the State. Being a good citizen and all that.

However, whenever a person is being virtuous ( like say, minimizing their financial burden on the State, or sweeping up the garbage on the street, or a father sticking around to pay for and raise his own kids, or committing to lifelong work and employment ) they are never called 'Far Right'.

The Church used to be dead against sin but now seems to be an advocate. I am thinking of joining up, especially as I've been coveting my neighbour's ox.

i reckon a ton of die-hard Christians, in the CofE , will defect across to the competition.

Catholicism, Methodism, Presbyterianism.....whatever. Even the Jesus Army ....if it was still fighting the valiant battle. Meanwhile the C of E can re-locate to a feminist hippy commune in California.

They are going to lose followers in their droves, especially through the extended international branches of the church and especially in Africa.

not a lot of tolerance of rainbow flags over there. But then again, the Bible is fairly clear on the matter. A strong disapproval of a man lying with another man. Not that the new Archibishop of Canterbury will be expected to go all ian Paisley on the topic.
