Nasa's Artemis II spacecraft

it's looking like they're going for the lunar fly-by. Hoping for some detailed photos of the lunar surface. Maybe focus on the tonnes of junk that NASA has left on the moon , and an Enforcement Notice from the US EPA to clean up their inter-planetary fly tipping.
What junk? I guarantee it will be missed as a degree offline to photo it. I mean the cynic in me would question how with today’s tech could that happen. The bigger cynic would question is there any to photograph 💁

There are plenty of photographs already taken by several other orbiters.

They should really see what roasting is like in deep space. Another to tick off the list at least 🤦
I'd envisage, what with the diversity of the crew, that perhaps they could use their spare time making a zero-gravity pron film. They could start with Christina Koch (great pron name) getting cold and the other astronauts attempting to warm her up with their own large rockets.
Back to reality, in that Apollo 13 only went around the moon because of a fault with the module. This time, Artmeis2 is all prepared , with cameras and monitoring equipment to get detailed information from the Dark Side. There are many big questions to try and get answers to. Is there any indicators that water was ever present ? Did the moon originate from a large collision with Earth ? Which crater does the Soup Dragon live in ?

The moon is the only realistic object for mankind to do return trips to. Going to Mars, with current technology, would be a one-way trip.

The only other one I really want to know is about the soup dragon. The other 2 it really doesn’t matter tbh. If water was present it’s gone and collisions have happened for ever with planets being formed. I could be a scientist I reckon 😁

A few photos being released to whet the appetite. No doubt the really good ones will be held back for selling as postcards and posters at the NASA shop. It must be a bit of a boring journey to the moon, with nothing to see out of the small windows. It must make playing "I spy with my little eye" a tad tiresome.
Still, I bet the astronaut/pilots feel quite relieved they got out of flying combat missions, now the USA still has a missing airman in Iran and two downed planes. That is much more hazardous than a moon mission, it would seem

I'm guessing there have been 10s of thousands of sorties and they've lost one pilot - who they may recover. However, on manned space flights even one disaster means a certain percentage of astronauts are dead. Current US losses of planes and pilots would be nowhere near one percent.
