So Palace's answer to that should be 'so dont buy him then'. Since when did we agree a transfer fee with clubs based on what they might or might not get for him when they sell him? If they dont want to pay what Palace want they wont get him. Unless there is a release clause but this I do not believe

That's always going to be a consideration for any buying club.

If there's no release clause then I agree with you - I think he's probably worth more to us than I can see a buying club being prepared to pay.

True, however we don't want to get a reputation for being a club that doesn't allow players to leave. If that happens they wont sign for us.

Better to be seen as a club where players can make their names and get a move to the top 6 club if the fee is correct.

I am convinced that all players will soon have to have a release clause in their contracts so we might as well get used to it.
