This guy is an MP. He has to be judged by a different standard to the average.
He didn't just defend himself. In the video, he looked drunk and was the aggressor. Any provocation is rather beside the point.

I never had a problem with Prescott punching someone for hitting him with an egg because he didn't instigate the action. But this was just violence directed onto the individual.

Well, we know that if this had been a right wing MP that would certainly be the case.

However, as we know the left are all about rewarding their friends and/or going softer on them and punishing their enemies.

In less polarized times I would support a more objective standard but as it stands I think the right should start doing the same across the board.....For far too long the right has been bending over backwards trying to please people who hold them in contempt.
