Probably best for everyone if he leaves - but if he does, we have to replace him with an upgrade - who would that be? Time for Parish to go out on a limb and pay for a top striker and top wages (notwithstanding the pressure it puts on the wages structure in the squad).Will we accept this offer?

But surely we have to learn a lesson that even to standstill in the Prem, you have to invest. Its all well and good saying the business model is to nurture talent and then sell on, but we have sold on without nurturing direct replacements, so that has not worked for the club or the capacity of the squad to compete.

It sounds ridiculous but I wouldn't put it past Marinakis to bid so Mateta doesn't play against them on Sunday and then withdraw the offer after the game.Will we accept this offer?

If Mateta accepted a mov to them it'd make him look a fool as he's always stated he wants Champions League football... And they ain't getting that.

The sale could be made conditional on him not playing v Palace, or delayed until after the game.
If he goes, it would be for the bumper contract on offer, as Forest aren't Champions League.
Not a criticism, but an observation - it's human nature to move for significant pay increase.
For what it's worth I think Mateta will stay until the end of the season and then go.
You never know , if he scores the winner in the World Cup Final for France we may be able to stick another £15 million on his fee!

His hold up play this season has been far from great I’m afraid. He can’t trap a ball but can be a handful for defenders. Unfortunately that’s no good if when he muscles them out of the way and is through on goal he kicks straight at the keeper.
Can’t see him going to Forest. Part of me would be angry that he was prepared to sign for the club that got us demoted from the Europa league but given he is useless it might help consign them rather than us to the Championship.

I cannot understand this obsession with Larson. For all his issues, Mateta has scored 8x more Premier goals than him this year. And if you watched the week end City game, you will have seen Bernardo Silva completely bully him at corners

If we beat Forest you can forget about any relegation battle. Even if we don’t sell Mateta we should drop him anyway. Just play 2 upfront Sarr and Johnson and give Pino a free role behind them we will soon start scoring again.
Absolutely not. It'd be an awful waste of money. Exchanging one striker not in form for another not in form who can barely get into the starting 11 of the league's bottom side.
But we could partner him with Nketiah to say we've wasted 70m on a non goalscoring, injury prone striking partnership.

I’d sell Mateta but I do not see the appeal of strand Larson. Is it because he seems to be the only striker available?
As poor as Mateta has been perhaps it’s better to move him in the summer and let the new coach bring in a striker. Hobbs moves for players seem predictable so far.
If he is willing to go to Forest then I get it is his last big payday but as others have said don’t let him play against us at the weekend
