Taking out my personal views on whether he should be sold, what I don't get is, what has happened to his knee injury? How is he going to pass a medical when the club thought it was too risky for him to play on astro turf for fear his knee might implode. All sounds very odd.

I think the reality is a lot of players play with niggles and some tenderness.

He might not be 100%, but he wont be far off.

Missed another couple of good chances again this weekend

I remember Antonio was saying in the pre match build up that he would do everything he could to get out of playing astro turf. And he did it when west ham played away to a team that used it.

He had two good moments and 80 minutes of huff and puff with nothing. Becoming more and more pointless, and of less worth, with each game he plays. What started as clubs willing to pay 40 mil for him has turned into clubs maybe willing to take him on loan and maybe sign him on a free

I get that after calling it a day played alot on a indoor pitch , I think that finished my knees off , training is one thing , playing on it is another thing

What has actually happened with JPM? Seems to have forgotten that offside is still part of the game and misses inside of the goal posts even from inside the box. His offside goal vs Sunderland showed he still has got it, but if his mind is set on leaving - sell and get a decent replacement.
PS! Please not Norwegian Strand-Larsen from Wolves....

Soon as a player wants out its best they are shown the door . As you say TE his performances for whatever reason are dropping off ,the goals have dried up and he doesn't seem to be the happy bunny that he was .
My own thoughts are that if he is not 100% happy he cant perform (dont go there) and what with's been going on at the club this season it's not hard to see why he is not .
 
I don’t know if this happens at other clubs but we have players that make it openly known that they want a move asap. Which in turn means their form drops off, apart from Guehi of course.

To me this is hugely disrespectful to the club and fans, but I guess this is the temperament of the modern day footballer which I really dislike especially when the cost for tickets has rocketed….
 
I reckon we'll sign this Cherif chap from Anger this month and JPM will leave in the summer.

Hopefully JPM will rediscover some form between now and the end of the season so we can still get a decent fee for him, otherwise we'll be stuck with another donkey.

Being played out of position. Dougie wanted him and it appears we tried, so probably accept Dougie’s opinion tbh. Apparently Mateta has told Villa he wants to double his wages. Delusional.

However if he wants out then he shouldn't be playing until he goes. What message does it give out to the rest of the players? Stick Sarr up front along with Pino/Uche and Johnson wide or even try Uche with Wharton in the middle
