Mateta Contract

Tottenham have just paid £75 m for Savinho from Citeh (2 goals in 53 games sounds like one of our purchases) so they might not be so interested in Mateta any more.
Tottenham paid a lot because they also are getting Marmoush. Marmoush has a percentag or profit sell on so the second deal is going to go through with a loss for city allowing them to not pay anything for the clause. Both deals should be looked at together in this case for value

OK but it could well still kibosh any interest in Mateta.

No happy reunion for him and Ollie, it would seem he is running out of options.
Also, how the f*** have the scummy west London outfit turned a £15m profit on Decrap?

I can't see a "big" club coming in for JPM not unless they are desperate. I'm not sure even clubs slightly above us e.g. Villa are that serious. Clubs will always chance their arm with a low ball offer but are they desperate to sign him?

I said this about Wilf when Arsenal wanted him. It was a low ball offer and they never came back. Who wants to join a club who are lukewarm. It's like the guy who asks the girl "suppose you'll do".

My guess is that only clubs at our level or below will be prepared to pay what we want so JPM may just see out his contract with us.

Unless the Saudi's come in with a mega offer (please).

my thoughts, if he does not go in this window even if he is the best option... and he is by a long way I would make the prick train alone. We all pretty much let it go how he was last season but if we let it go again then that is on us and not him because we are basically giving the dozy prick the go ahead to do it again in January. The bloke has no class.

And even though he is the better option... just look at how many chances he's missed that most strikers would put away. Surely now with the money we paid, we build around Strand Larson and reflect again in January if that does not work out.

Villa is a maybe also means he gets his second wish ticked if it happens , then just leaves playing in Italian , lets face it he has only 3 years left at best in him so its now or never , but he really does need a new agent this one is giving bad advice all the time

It’s not just getting the biggest fee , all the time he’s at Palace he going to prevent the other strikers ( ?) getting a run in the team so best he moves on I think .

If it was £30m in January then its got to be between £20m and £25m. Reports say that's our valuation and oddly that's where Villa pitched their offer -all allegedly.
I've really enjoyed having him over the years, but he needs to go asap.
It can be that the total sum is about there but the deal structure is off. Given Villa's financial issues, it could well be £5m upfront, £5m per year for the following 3 years, an extra £5m based on unrealistic clauses etc. etc.

Given our 70% SCR constraints this year I'd expect we'd be wanting a good chunk of the money upfront.
