Marc Guéhi

Maybe this was always the plan. Make it conditional on getting replacements, but then can’t get deals done… Guehi stays, but feels as if Palace tried. Perhaps he’ll leave in January, with Palace trying to get others interested to maximise the price from other European clubs that might need reinforcements as they enter later stages of the Champions League. In the meantime we look at replacements… but still leave it to the last minute!
SP - has no plan or strategy and todays fiasco proved it..!!

We now have a disgruntled Manager and Captain..!!

And that’s good planning is it - get real..!!

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that conversation this afternoon between OG and Parish. Did OG say if Guehi goes so do I.
Who knows what was said but Talksport believe something was said. Maybe Glasner said if Marc goes I will have to evaluate my position tonight. That isn’t a direct threat but it shows he’s going to have a serious think.

Wonder how Marc is feeling.
We pay him £50k a week while we pay eduoard £90k a week and Nketiah the same.
Least we can do is give him a rise for his last year.

He could have signed a new contract at much higher salary, but with a release clause below his real value… then it could have been a win/win rather than Palace having to sell him below value due to his contract running down. He could have done this last year when we turned down the higher offers. However, his agent would not have done as well out of such an arrangement.

If Liverpool had made us an offer we couldn't refuse - which by the sounds of things is only the difference of about £10m - they'd have had him weeks ago. They can't really complain.

Glasner had an agreement with Parish that Guehi can't go if a replacement isn't sought. Guehi hasn't left. Glasner can't really complain.

Parish now needs to work out how to fix a £35m hole in the budget over the next 12 months. He's the only one that's still got an immediate problem.

Always have found the criticism of SP on here utterly baffling.
As if the club still being in existence, having been in the Prem for 12 years, having just won a couple of trophies, being pretty solvent and having one of the most united squads in the country has nothing whatsoever to do with him.

Maybe I’m too generous in my sentiments towards Palace chairmen in my lifetime…I suspect even Goldberg wanted the club to do well. But I retain warm thoughts towards Ron Noades and Simon Jordan because they did their level best for the club, gave us some great days out at Wembley (and Stockport!) and spent a fair bit of cash.

The last 15 years have not all been glorious but they constitute a prolonged golden era in the club’s history and 2025 is the undoubted pinnacle.
Can’t believe the negativity. But I turned 54 yesterday, so maybe I’m just so last century.

Why if he isn’t going to extend? I expect he’s had offers for the last 18-24 months and declined. That’s how it works. He gets a huge signing on fee and pay increase next summer somewhere like Kamada.

When we play Brighton rather than singing Eaaaagles we should sing Igoooooor!

After all this chaos there is of course still the possibility Parish pulls an Olise-style deal out of the bag whereby Guehi signs a new contract, doubles his wage, gets a signing bonus and gets a low release clause of say £40 million to ensure he can move without a fuss next summer.

HF please can we have a song for Igor? How about instead of Let's All Do the Conga Lets All Do The Igor?
We all love Igor of course but I bet Marc cant stand him for scuppering his move!
It was all thanks to Igor.
A peerage awaits you sir

Have we spent all the Eze money yet?

Mate SP needs to go to Guehi and firstly apologise - then say here’s a 1 year extension on £150K a week, we’ll include a release clause of £50M..!!

Bottom line is that SP now needs to build bridges and get Guehi and Glasner back onside quickly..!!

Because at the moment I suspect the atmosphere is very frosty and fractious indeed..!!

We want to give him a pay rise but he won't sign a new contract. I am sure Parish would happily give him a four year deal at 130k a week with a 90m release clause. But MG will now hold out to go on a free to Liverpool for 200k a week, we get another year out of him. Hopefully he and Glasner leave us having won the Conference and finishing in the top ten.
