Are we seeing a twist in the Marc Guehi to Liverpool transfer?

Reports online are that the deal seems to have hit a snag despite the 25-year-old undergoing his Liverpool medical in London.

Palace were in for Brighton defender Igor Julio but West Ham are trying to complete a deal.

There are less than three hours to resolve the issue.

No manager is staying at a club like palace if a bigger club comes in, its like saying let's not buy that player because if he's good, he's just gonna go to a bigger club anyway.

You back the manager, if you're not prepared to back the manager, then you replace him, that's the whole point of employing someone in that position, otherwise the chairman might aswell just manage the team.
Don't tempt fate. I can imagine the team talk in Sainsbury's...

Looks like he's gone. Quite disappointed in MG to be honest. He was completely committed up until yesterday and now he's off. I understand why he's leaving but he must have known yesterday and didn't even make any gesture to the fans at the end of the match.
He's pretty much held us to ransom as explained on SSN as he has more than likely stated that he will not sign a new contract so the we've had to accept an offer rather than losing him for nothing at the end of the season. 35mil is absolute robbery when you look at the amount players are going for now.
Hoping that we get in Pavlovic from AC Milan as his replacement as Igor Julio is not gonna be a good replacement.
It's the club in my view

Letting Guehi go shows the level of ambition that Parish has and if Glasner (our most successful manager) leaves that is totally his (Parish) fault.
We are still running into Aldi at last knockings then wondering why all the good stuff has gone.
He is selling our Captain and probably England’s next. Yes he would have walked away for free next June but a good chance in that time of us winning more trophies and his successor being given time to develop.
I would also like know what investment our American co-owners are putting into the club because at the moment it looks like bugger all! Of course it’s secret…
If OG leaves because we sold MG then so what. If MG got injured mid season what would he do, leave?
OG has to realise he’s the manager and gets paid to do a job. Toys out of the pram time. I know he’s a great manager but like players they come and go.
Use the players you have to do the best you can. Didn’t miss eze yesterday while battering villa so probably shouldnt miss MG tbh.
Tin hat firmly on 😂

Not sure why people blame the club that players like MG, Eze and Olise leave. We cannot force players to stay at Palace. Olise put a release clause in his contract, MG doesn't want to sign a new contract and neither did Eze. Palace either wait for them to leave for nothing getting one or two more years (then replace them with £0 funds) or sell them and get the £100m to buy replacements. We are not Real Madrid. Glasner is nieve to blame the club for having to let sell them. There is no magic money tree.

There is a ceiling on Parish’s ambitions and today is the evidence. The manager needed his support and was told in virtually every recent interview “we mustn’t sell Guehi” clearly that fell on deaf ears.
If I was OG I would feel very let down and I believe that the reason we did not buy a replacement once the window opened was that we simply didn’t have the money much like ‘the stand’ that shows no sign of being built.
Lack of planning and money, quite happy with 12th and the last thing he wants is an overly ambitious manager.
Pathetic Mr Parish.
You talk as if Parish has all the money. He can only spend what the billionaires are prepared to provide by way of loans and it seems they aren't that fussed to fund us beyond what we can earn from player sales (bearing in mind that the club is still run at a loss). During transfer window time, Parish becomes everybody's whipping boy because he won't open the imaginary bank vaults people think he's got access to.

I don't think you can compare that to the club sanctioning his sale without a replacement lined up.

Otherwise, yes, here are the players - do your job to get the best out of what there is !

No but you can accept the 35 mill Liverpool offered weeks ago and get a replacement.

The only problem with that is yesterday Oliver Glasner said he had an agreement with Steve Parish, that a replacement for Guehi would have joined by July 1st. Assuming that agreement to have been in place then what does that say to Glasner, our current players and any future manager or players?
For example a couple of days ago in Pino`s introduction video, Speroni translated part of his speech to the players as "lets win more trophies". During negotiations for Pino what was he told regarding future plans?

Palace have loads of time to sort the situation. There are more than 6 hours left on the transfer clock, and Palace have an allowance to either get a carthorse, or some unproven young stallion. My money would be on getting emerging talent in, as the wages would be cheaper and there would be potentially more profit for any sell-on in the future.
So something young and inexperienced is my bet. And cheap 😀

What like olise, eze. Geuhi and lacroix !

I bet Marc is feeling a bit off if all this deal on/off/stalling malarkey is correct.

His future career being up in the air with a few hours left. Playing in a great win only yesterday with his managers praise ringing in his ears, and now he is probably holed up in some room with his agent checking his phone every minute.
