Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Johnson was playing as a false 9 last season, according to my Spurs supporting cousin. Are we playing him in the same role? Takes time to settle. Today could be the day. In OG we trust…oh wait

Another classic Glasner decision. Drop your man of the match from last game, bring in the dynamic duo Kamada and Johnson.

Oh well, here’s hoping.
I suspect it's a contractual thing. He might trigger a selling clause by starting so many games. I could be wrong.

Controversially, I think I agree with the team

Guessand played his first 90 minutes for a long time on Thursday, it is one of the few places we can rotate with quality (though not on form) to add energy, our game plan is likely to be built upon quick counter attacks which Johnson was bought for and he did get an assist on Thursday. It may not work out but I see the logic.

Kamada, alongside Wharton, is the CM most suited to trying to get the ball upfield early. I also don’t think Hughes has been that great since December. A fit Lerma would have a better case imo. They may get over run but it is the more attacking option.

I wouldn’t have been against Riad starting but Canvot was close to MOTM in the vote from Thursday. I don’t think it’s surprising to see him start?

We’re underdogs sure but that often brings out the best in us. I don’t like OG but I’m behind the team.

Glasner has said he is resting him after playing midweek and anticipating a lot of running being necessary today
A lot of running backwards. 🙄

agreed, a lot of defensive running required, likely closing down players when we don't have the ball which could be 75% of the time

then jumping when we win the ball back with the pace of Sarr and Johnson
A tough ask today. Form is normally everything.

We are limping and they are flying right now.

Ahhh the joys of Alan Smith on co-comms.

I also notice Ollie speaking to Carrick… Carrick clearly saying ‘follow this then mate’ as Ollie get ready to take over lol

Nice start! What a great header

Picked up our traditional early booking as well. Not really Kamada’s fault. Played into trouble by Wharton

I feel Ty Mitchell is genuinely good at getting into promising attacking positions, unfortunately not at taking advantage of them.

Can’t help but feel he looks better (defending) when the team are actually playing worse.
