Main Stand redevelopment thread

Your quite right I do not know what transpired but am just used to people being honest particuarly the chairman if CPFC.He has been fast and lose with the truth with regard progress and I believe the fans deserve better. As regard construction I was the MD of a multi million pound construction company before I retired so do have some knowledge on how building projects work.
Hence why you are living the life of Riley in Cyprus 👍

The application on the Croydon Planning web pages is a continuation of the existing permission with a few minor changes: the Fanzone needs to move towards nearby houses to allow building work on the stand so local residents need to be informed; filling in the corner and removal of the television gantry on the Arthur Wait Stand was always part of the initial plan so this formalises it; other minor changes are notified so that any potential Health and Safety issues can be highlighted. The main change, initiated by Woody Johnson, and not necessarily a planning issue is the change from a concrete structure to steel. This, apparently, saves a considerable amount of money and time which maybe a reason why Bovis pulled out given that profit margins will be based on total cost (or am I talking bulls**t).
Let’s not worry about this until after the coming big week.

It wasn't woody johnson who initiated it, it was an advisor who palace brought in when bovis weren't performing, that suggested it. Bovis didnt pull out, palace got rid.

If the stand ever gets redeveloped. I don't mind it being renamed the Oliver Glasner stand...
There can be an Oliver Glasner suite in what must be named the Steve Coppell stand. That's my final offer.

Who are we kidding? It'll be called the Mcwebappcashmaster stand or something, as part of some sponsorship deal described in the press release as 'Groundbreaking'. Which is ironic, as breaking ground is what we're struggling with.

Do we think the stand will be completed before cold nuclear fusion is perfected. Both seem to have been “20 years away” for most of my life

This stand is going to cost more than HS2 by the time the builders are contracted to build it , Personally I can’t see it being built until Parish sells his shares .
