Main Stand redevelopment thread

When he stated, in front of TV cameras, that he'd reunited club with ground when he'd actually done nothing of the sort, instead saddling the club with commitments it had no hope of meeting. My respect for him evaporated the moment the truth came out.

Jordan is a mouthy blowhard, a spiv who got lucky with mobile phones. As Gordon Gecko said, a fool and his money are lucky to have got together in the first place. A sad, bitter man who deserves no sympathy and merits no credence.

Not a fan of SJ but to claim he got lucky is BS.

The guy as of today has more wealth compared to SP that tells you something especially after all that £ he lost not only from Palace.

Crystal Palace Park is a convergence point of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham councils. To get permission to do anything up there requires all 5 of those authorities to agree, plus the LDA, plus all the NIMBYs that dont want a football club and will never agree to one.
Parish said a little while ago that his biggest regret over CPP was building up people's hopes that there was any chance it could happen in the first place.
Never happening

It's not as difficult as people make out Noades even spoke about it he was given permission but it was only 30 thousand at the time and he wanted something like 45 and look how there was not going to be any issues when original athletics plan of large funding was going to take place.

It comes down to who you know and give the right people under the table incentives.

Yep, he has nothing good to say about the club

He even said winning the conference was a mickey mouse cup, despite it getting us in to europa and earning a few million quid.

He has an agenda with Steve, laugh in his face Steve, i would.

He said the same when west ham and Chelsea won it so he has been consistent on that front.

He's not wrong about the mickey mouse cup, lets be honest, the competition shouldn't even exist.
How can it be mickey mouse, when it earns us a few million and gets us into Europa ?

I had family in Leipzig for the final, along with 20,000 others.

Trying telling them it was mickey mouse.

Steve keep doing a great job in driving the club forward.

Its a third tier European competition, 90% of the clubs no one has heard of and would struggle in our league 1 and our squad was probably worth more than every opponent we faced combined. Its about as mickey mouse as you can get.

Disagree, if we had a stadium capacity the same as West Hams we would equal their attendances.
Im sorry but last time they were in the championship they had an attendence of pretty much double ours.

Yeah ofcourse PL gives alot of extra attendances, but surely their 28k against our 14k (In the championship points to a much bigger club)

Much as Leeds, Sunderland and so on that have 30k+ in championship while we had 17k for the top games but average around 14k. (Didn't google but that is how it felt)

You may want to consider supporting a different team

His entire career on TalkSh#te? It's a well known thing, and blindingly obvious if you ever listen to him talk for five minutes.
To be fair, TalkSport is a radio station aimed to do nothing but stir up the listener until they call in and have a long (expensive) rant on air. Being a total gobsh*te has to be the only requirement for hosting on it. I have some mixed feelings about Simon J but it's pretty obvious he's on there because they knew his tripe would bait the right people.

Disagree, if we had a stadium capacity the same as West Hams we would equal their attendances. By the way West Ham are NOT sold out every week. They nearly always have a couple of thoudsand tickets available regardless of who they are playing. Their attendances are likely to be much lower still in the Championship and as for 'buying their way out of the Championship' maybe you can explain how they can do that AND raise the £180m needed to pay off debts and stay afloat? Because thats what they need to raise in player sales this summer.
Trust me, unless their youth team is way better than anyone realised they'll not be leaving the Championship any time soon.
Not sure how you see the size of clubs but money and income is everything. Its hard to get accurate figures but as far as I can see.....
Their current valuation is over £1Bil, double that of Palace.
Wet Spams income is >£220mil/yr plus £56mil(?) parachute, yes it will slowly drop in the Championship but £180mil isn't so big with that income and when does it has to be paid off anyway.
They're asking £85mil for Fernandes, the world has gone mad. If they get that they will have plenty of headroom.

For perspective Palaces income is about £80mil/yr their debts as far as I can work out are about £80mil at the start of season. A Wharton sale alone would clear that. I have no idea what the payment terms for JSL and Johnson are.
