it was pretty chaotic under Pardew, he admitted he didn’t spend much time on the defence in training, preferring to concentrate on what we could do going forward

Cold fact of the matter as I mentioned in another thread is Sage's tactic is to turn every game into something resembling a playground kickabout with a piss poor defence and absolutely no structure whatsoever. Get used to it because it's not going to change and we'll concede more than we score.

It's a curious way to go about training - why should they be mutually exclusive? You'd think training the defence to come up with ways of countering different attacking options would be a good thing.

Kevin Keegan was another one, he admitted he just wanted to out score the other team and the geordies loved him for it, fine if you win more than you lose, but if you keep getting beat it’s a different story I suppose

I think Sage wants to use Sarr centrally, up front.

Just play Kamada and Pino from the start in every game that they are fit. Their quality is obvious, especially in European competition.
