Loan Watch - Odsonne Eduoard

Fair enough, how have they got on in Europe?
Strasbourg: Conference League semi-finalists, knocked out by Rayo Vallecano 0-2 aggregate.

Monaco: Champions League knockout playoff round, knocked out by eventual champions PSG 4-5 aggregate.

Marseille: 25th in Champions League "league phase", missed out on knock out phase football by 1 goal difference.

Lyon: Europa League Round of 16, knocked out by Celta Vigo 1-3 aggregate.

PSG: Champions League winners (back to back).

Lens: Next season will be their first in Europe, thanks to Sage.

Forget PSG, their 3rd team would be the 3rd best team in France, it is a pitiful standard, division 1 in England, Lens finished 2nd in 2023/23 under Franck Haise, it is an unbelievably poor standard

You can forget PSG by all means, all of those records stand on their own. To suggest that any of them are EPL relegation standard is laughable.

If so, what does that make us? Monaco gave PSG a close run over two legs. They all held their weight in Europe, we would never make it out of the Champions League league stage at our current level.

Edoaurd is a very technical player but he desperately needs to add hold up play and pressing. Which I can't see will somehow have magically happened. Unless he's completely transformed somehow. Seems ridiculously unlikely.

i think Nketiah has similar flaws to OE, which makes the logic of signing him so bizarre.

Occasional great finishes, but unable to play a lone 9 and hold the ball up, no physical presence and the ability to make poor decisions and bad passes repeatedly through a game.

Agree OE won't be returning
