Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Nobody envisaged in 2002-03 season that a club would get relegated on 42 pts, a fate realised by W.Ham.
I look at our remaining fixtures whici include Man City and Arsenal and I am far from confident that we will add to our points tally.
I thought you were going to quote War of the Worlds for a minute.

We are not safe until the numbers say so. Based on the fixtures, I would have us finishing 16th, but you can never be certain of anything in football. I think we will be doing well to get 2 more points.

On today’s performance and other results I can see what you mean. However, I can’t believe we won’t get a couple of draws even if we don’t win again this season. It’s pretty drab watching us and football in general in recent times. I’m watching Man City at the moment and they are drab to watch as well :-(

Willo has a point. Both West Ham and Spurs could overtake us as all their remaining games are winnable. We won't take any points off Citeh or Arsenal. Curious that Ladbrokes will not give odds on Palace being relegated, distracted as we are by the European business. Wolves and Burnley are basket cases, but one decent club will be relegated this season.
Yes it could be serious we could be sleep walking into the drop zone if not careful - stranger things do happen when take eye off the ball ( no pun intended )

I get what you're saying, but as some of the teams below still have to play each other it'd take a hell of a combination of results, and for us to go on a 6 game losing streak. Not saying it's impossible though.

If you look at the full picture and lets say we don't add anymore points we are not getting relegated.

We have 43 points & Spurs have 34 in between us is another 4 teams and all these teams have already played an extra game.

Only 4 games left for those teams (12 points to play for but they can't win them all those teams why simple they will be playing each other)

We have been very poor OG can keep going on about how many points we have but that is useless stat it's the position you finish in that matters & really it's all on Palace we should not be outside top 10.

Same type of away day at Anfield
Away Stand seems 30% of non Palace or supporters who not wanting to sing.

I don’t expect us to be Aled Jones or Raye but we weren’t very vocal as at other grounds

Agree, I felt like it never got going and there was nowhere near the usual atmosphere or vocal support as we usually have at an away game.

You think West Ham will beat Arsenal? If it's winnable for West Ham how isn't it winnable for us? Some people really do love twisting their knickers.

West Ham won't beat Arsenal and Spurs won't beat Villa and there's no chance we're going down.

Some people fail to remember the simple fact that we are the only team in premier league history who were relegated but we’re not in the bottom 3 at the start of the final league game of the season. So until it’s mathematically possible we cannot be relegated there is every chance we may be.
