In the jungle, the fastest strongest male Lion will reproduce. The loser lions, not so much. In the human World ? It used to be thus, but maybe no longer ?

Unless you're Musk the general rule seems to be that the most successful people reproduce the least.

It's been true since Roman times, once an elite get very successful.

The rich get holidays, the poor get children.....though even the poor aren't reproducing nowadays....and they have a far stronger claim on cost of living than anyone else.
