This is true, fair pointI like Neil Young. He was OK last night but it should be highlighted that the likes of Young, Fogerty and Rod are around 80 years old.
Some of us will be glad just to still be alive at that age, let alone giving it some on stage.,
Rod has been good so far. A lot of newer acts seriously lack personality.
That is more information than I needed. This is true, fair point
Iāll be having a sneaky look at Rod later once the mrs goes to bed. And as Iāll be sitting in my pants because itās so hot Iāll have a wry smile to myself when he does do ya think Iām sexyš
If that is your aim, I would recommend streaming the Wet Leg set. I actually (no, I mean, actually) like the music. Bit Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But golly gumdrops, what a lead singer!Worth putting on for the rather pleasing to the eye young ladies heās got on stage with him š
Yeah, good aren't they? I discovered them last year and mr. a kindly uploaded their album for me on staffie's thread. If that is your aim, I would recommend streaming the Wet Leg set. I actually (no, I mean, actually) like the music. Bit Yeah Yeah Yeahs. But golly gumdrops, what a lead singer!
Ah, bless. Music sure is a wonderful memory jogger.Funny how music can bring back memories. My stepfather died forty years ago. His favourite song was "we are sailing" (navy for 25 years). There was a little tear when Rod played that as his finale. I kind of knew he would.
I know what you mean mateš„¹ my dad died 32 years ago but I still well up when I hear āmy wayā he was Sinatra mad and this was his funeral song. I felt the same about The 1975. Friday and Sunday headliners seriously underwhelming.Yeah, good aren't they? I discovered them last year and mr. a kindly uploaded their album for me on staffie's thread.
Final note from me on this year's festival, although after a weekend away, I'm still dipping into iPlayer. Rod was just fun, old fashioned, anthem replaying entertainment and, like Monkey, I thought his backing girls were a great watch. Played well too. Seeing him with
his old mucker Ronnie Wood reminded me of seeing the Faces at the Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival in 1967. Memories.
Finally, finally - until fairly recently I assumed Charli XCX was a bloke. Stupid name anyway. So I watched her set and couldn't believe that she's won awards and been hyped to such an extent. Just a lot of unintelligible, foul mouthed ranting as far as I could tell. Not impressed.
...is the correct word.Of course Rod was my priority, but Iāll have to have a look at your recommendation, it would be rude not tošš
I watched Olivia Rodrigo. A pretty girl, but unfortunately, the best bits were when she wasn't singing.
And why does she have to say f***ing every 5 seconds? It's classless. Leave that to the lads.
Her girly angst stuff aimed at teenage girls is not really going to impress an old guy like me, even in her tight Union Flag shorts.
He has a point. Has anyone seen the pics of the mountain of trash these people left behind. So concerned with saving the world arenāt they.Noel Gallagher's opinion of Glastonbury.
"I donāt like it in music - little f**king idiots waving flags around and making political statements and bands taking the stage and saying, āHey guys, isnāt war terrible, yeah? Letās all boo war. F**k the Tories man,ā and all that. Itās like, look ā play your f**king tunes and get off."
He added: "Donate all your money to the cause ā thatās it, stop yapping about it"
I said to my mrs last night can you imagine the rubbish left behind.
