FWIW Paul Robinson certainly seems to disagree, talking about his ‘excellent’ hold up play. I don’t think he’s been that bad (considering the context Mateta has been our best striker in years and is hugely flawed).

Well in that case the argument is that Khalaili has no reason to be offside. He’s looking across the whole line and has acres of space to run into.

True but my thinking was that Khalaili being five inches offside made no difference. He was several yards ahead of the defender by the time he got to the ball. To me that's why it's within any reasonable tolerance for such a fractional offside, that you can only identify with a computer, to be ignored.
