Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

That doesn't excuse this performance, they were all rested this week, apart for a few played 20 minutes.
I would suggest the cumulative effect of the number of games with a tight squad does excuse it personally but that's just my view.

The players may be physically recovered (or not) but they look mentally fatigued too. Making decisions they wouldn't do when fresh.

I would suggest Glasner wasn't supported in the transfer window and has a squad that was wafer thin and is now leaky with holes in the side.

The owners could have done more in the window and didn't. Glasner called them out in the summer.

He's doing his best but he cannot perform miracles, he is not a magician!
I was supportive of Glasner's statement re investing. Fact is he has no alternate system when things go arse up, as they inevitably do. Doesn't try a change in formation to suit the situation. But it's all been said before. Let's hope that this game teaches a harsh lesson to all involved.

How many mid table teams that have qualified for Europe over the years have then struggled in the league. We are not the first and will not be the last.
Yes I would have loved us to splash the cash and strengthen the squad but we simply do not have the money. Football is a business and as a business you have to be sustainable.
The problem with all us fans is that we think we could do better!
It is not possible for any team to enhance their squad as quickly as was required when we won the FA cup and the unexpected European campaign.
The big saving grace this season is that we are on 26 points already and will get over the line, and with a bit of luck may still do well in the cups.
We simply can’t have it all and should remember where we have come from!
That’s not being defeatist but just realistic.

To be fair i think i've seen an interview where Glasner said his preference isn't our current system but he plays it because it suits the squad.

Perhaps given the lack of training time he cannot change the system right now, they've been saying in PR pieces that to manage minutes they are doing minimal training between matches so they probably have to stick with the system right now

I seem to remember the weed struggling the season they qualified ?

Our strength has been the sum of our parts, and Munoz – player of the season in our glorious season, even with the transcendently gifted Eze as a teammate – has been the engine, the spark, and even on defense, invaluable. Now we're missing Munoz. And Sarr, our best scoring threat with Mateta off-key. And Kamada, uninspiring but a player who brings precision and control to the attack as well as the midfield.

So we are average at best. And against an energetic team who are earning their breaks, we're a distant second.

It’s been an awful performance and an awful week, the games have caught up with us and mistakes have been made.

I still back this manager and this team… I’m hoping this forces Steve’s hand. We desperately need investment to get through February if we are to stay at the heady heights we have been at.

It’s a real shame to finish 2025 this way but it has still arguably been the most successful year in our history.

Maybe the players have realised OG is on his way soon, and have downed tools accordingly.
Are you being serious? No one has downed tools, it’s a bad day at the office and Leeds knew to take their best chance of 3 points.
We have only won 1 game after all the European games and yes we made changes but they are knackered and missing key players.
