Leeds v Crystal Palace Match Thread

It's as I suggested in another post: the wheels are slowly coming off the cart. OG has his system and his players, and 3 of them happen to be missing. The signs have been there for a number of weeks, missed chances galore, poor performances in Europe, too many games - it all adds up.

I am wholeheartedly in agreement. The chickens have come home to roost.
I asserted that we would not attain all the points. I could not comprehend how some kind souls predicted a victory for our team.
In private conversations I mentioned that I was wary of Calvert-Lewin.

With the physical nature of the game and reliance on set pieces, this may have been a game for Lerma- but I acknowledge that I'm saying this in hindsight.
We are being bullied.
Yeah, similarly in hindsight, I agree. I would have played one of our CBs on Thursday and Hughes in CM so Lerma tonight.

Richards normally wins headers but he is overwhelmed here. I’d consider bringing Lerma on.
I feel for Hughes as he was on great form at the start of the season but hasn’t been great of late.

It’s not been a good watch so far and we do not have many game changers on the bench! So those on the pitch need to step up in the second half but can’t see it…

Fixture pile up mostly caused by the slightly pointless European escapade. We don't have the squad to fight on three fronts and expect things to work out in wins every time. Fair play to Leeds though - they have done what they needed to do.

We look totally unbalanced on the right with no Sarr and Munoz.
Clyne is no wing-back and all he can do is receive the ball and pass it backwards.
Nketiah totally unsuited to the position he has been assigned.
Indeed, it's a struggle down our right side to build attacks.
We should be competing better on the throw ins and corners.
That weakness is uncharacteristic.

The game has gone precisely as I thought it would. I never gave us a chance.
We cannot handle Leeds when the ball is in the air in our penalty area.
Apropos Mateta, the less said the better. His wayward shot said it all.
Nketiah is the player I witnessed in a Leeds shirt.
Nobody like's a smart arse!

I think that’s primarily because Munoz normally plays right back, right mid and right wing all at once and Hughes is now spending more time helping Clyne out defensively down that side.

Having said that he’s gone off for Lerma so maybe he’s been carrying a knock too.

I'd bring Uche on given Matetas performance so far

Christ Leeds are massively outrunning us. Last time they were up they were headless chickens who petered out but they have organisation and purpose about it now. BUT, they are still physical bruising anti-footballers.

I think those are the only positions he doesn’t play 😉.

We’ve definitely missed Munoz on the right (and that will impact the CMs) but not necessarily defensively.

Hoping it wasn’t an injury and Hughes finds form soon as we really need him.
