His goal against shaktahr showed that he is far from a donkey, surprisingly nimble for his size, he can look a bit awkward sometimes and he’s no Haaland, but I’ve seen enough of him to think he’s going to do a reasonable job for us

All the time these players aren't commanding a decent transfer fee, and are still in contact then I am prepared to wait and see. I might continue to slate Pino but I will also enjoy being proved wrong one day.

If we get to a point that we could sell these players, or their contracts are running down and they haven't come good then I would let them leave.

Simon Jordan labelled him a "Donkey" at the start of the year and JSL has displayed braying tendencies. He has given reasons for those to conclude that Simon was accurate in his assessment.
Let us hope that we witness a much better version of JSL under a new manager.

I think it really depends how we set up to play. A present, our system really suits Sarr, and kind of suits JP.

If we played with wingers who crossed the ball I'd be pretty confident that JSL would score a bunch.

Pino, yes, it's where he plays for Spain. Johnson, no, Esse would be better or even JRS(I jest). Thankfully Franca still has one more year on his loan, so won't be back.

Sometimes it can take a while to click. Wasn't until Glasner arrived that Mateta finally clicked, before that everyone thought he was useless. Next manager might be exactly what some of these guys need.

It might be that one, some, or all four of these kick on and play every bit as well as Mateta, Sarr, perhaps even Eze. Hope so. Hasn't happened yet, though. My point was simply that presuming Mateta leaves we are relying a lot on Sarr, and on hope.
