I'm hoping that Sage is on board with this and involved with the transfer policy in order to shape his own team.A bit concerned about the quality of the team heading into the season though.
After all, he gave up alot to come here

No, you're not the only one. I've said all along that if we need to sell one of our major assets (and that is what players are in this day and age - business assets, sadly) this window, it should be Lacroix because he's the easiest one to replace. Also, I don't rate him as being top drawer. He's better than Andersen whom he replaced but not at Guehi's level.
This is one of those unknowns.I'm hoping that Sage is on board with this and involved with the transfer policy in order to shape his own team.

Brighton sold a cb in the final year of his contract for £55m and Lacroix critical to our defence is going for £52m. Seems odd, perhaps we needed to sell. Shame if we are forced into selling because we bought Johnson and strand Larsen by paying well over their value

Assuming we get Matsima then I expect we'll go for just one more CD making 5 in total but with both Lerma and Mingueza as back-ups if needed. It’s a shame he’s gone, but we need to look forward and get players in. Based on the amount of games we played last season we will need plenty of cover at the back along with another midfielder and if we lose JPM we will need a striker……..
It cost Wilf more than it cost us. We benefited more out of the extra season before packing him off for what was good money for us back then.Well we didn't bend over for Zaha amd Arsemal and that arguably cost us. I had hoped that with Saliba's injury and the Rogers gazumping, Arsenal would come in for Lacroix but no such luck and I guess we need the money after the January fiasco
BTW, we have never finished 16th in the Premier League, and have managed 10th on two occasions
I know we owe a lot to Roy, but his player identification "skills" really boil my biscuits.Mitchell could yet qualify as a Palace man; Roy didn't expect us to keep him any longer than wan Bissaka.
I remember Arsenal getting knocked back as they wouldn't meet the valuation. Then going for Nicolas Pepe instead, the fools.Arsenal didn't want Wilf there was never an official bid from them.
The only offer he had was Everton for 35m.
Then rocks up at Forest and they flog AndersonSo wrong in every way in Europe and selling our best players no wonder OG would not sign a new contract lost 2 best centre backs just shows football is all about money Chelsea city should of been deducted points but still buy every one available
Some times what is the point we are so behind the times need a new chairman with proper ambition
Not at all. My personal feeling, he was one of those types. Anyone is free to disagree if they so wish.Bamford?! Lord Bamford? Palace at heart? 😆
I think you included that name by mistake Linford! 🍺🍻🍻🍹🍹🍸🍺😵💫

Unai Emery signed Pepe for about £70 Million.I remember Arsenal getting knocked back as they wouldn't meet the valuation. Then going for Nicolas Pepe instead, the fools.

I was under the impression that he is a CB, but, can play as a RB, not the other way round?Assuming we get Matsima then I expect we'll go for just one more CD making 5 in total but with both Lerma and Mingueza as back-ups if needed.
As for midfield, I think we'll keep our powder dry until Sage decides whether or not Doucoure and/or Ozoh are options.
Possibly Portsmouth or Leeds, both way back when. Not the kinds of blueprints we want to follow.Name another top tier club that has lost the combined ability of Olise, Eze, Guehi and Lacroix in such a short period of time without properly replacing them? I can’t think of one.
That was under Dougie of course. No, you’re not alone. Even though I consider him a top-class defender who’ll be hard to replace, I do believe we’ve had a knack for signing good centre-backs in the past. When Andersen left, Lacroix came in, and Riad and Canvot also seem to be promising. If only we could replace all our departures as successfully as we have with the centre-backs who’ve left us.
In his highlight reel he is always playing RWB. He looks the spitting image of Muñoz at his peak.I was under the impression that he is a CB, but, can play as a RB, not the other way round?

We're perennial under Dougs. That was under Dougie of course.

That would be lovely. In his highlight reel he is always playing RWB. He looks the spitting image of Muñoz at his peak.
Both deals are £51m, but yes absolutely right, it seems mad that it's being suggested we used the former as a benchmark for the deal, and that Max is going for the same fee.Brighton sold a cb in the final year of his contract for £55m and Lacroix critical to our defence is going for £52m. Seems odd, perhaps we needed to sell. Shame if we are forced into selling because we bought Johnson and strand Larsen by paying well over their value
