Labour Party politics

Completely untrue, in so many ways.

The 'other half' doesn't just go to the unemployed. A huge amount of it goes to people who are employed.

There's also enormous irony in saying young people 'will kick up a stink' if economic measures are taken against them... have you met any pensioners!?

Young people have already absorbed a completely disproportionate amount of the economic and policy pressure of the last couple of decades.

Pensioners are without question the most politically and economically protected demographic in the country, and successive governments have been incredibly reluctant to make them share the sort of reductions in benefits or living standards that working age people have already experienced.
100% correct

100% taboo

The definition of a political third rail.

Its a vote winner

It certainly nails on support from a lot of dithering voters. I suspect the Lib-Dems will announce some kind of pact as well, ditto with the Greens.

Benefits are so high they should be taxed , It’s ludicrous that they are tax exempt , Particularly PIP payments , Also PIP should end when you reach state retirement age .
Cannot understand why this is allowed. All income -above tax free allowances - should be taxed regardless of source. How can it be that someone working full time on the minimum wage pays NI and income tax - while someone on benefit can get the same, or a lot more in many instances, paid to then nett. No deduction. Paying tax on benefits would at lease provide a more level playing field for those who want to work. Currently there is a disincentive.

What actually needs to happen is NI on the benefits and on the minimum wage but no income tax on anything below the minimum wage, in my opinion. Why set a minimum wage and then tax it? Lower it slightly if necessary. Same for pensions and benefits. Pointless paying them out and then deducting something. But earnings above that, fine. Still have them paying NI, however.

Oh stop it people in hmg get paid gazzilions and take months to work this out 😆

I see that France, a leading country in the EU utopia that Burnham wants us to rejoin, is in flames with schools being burnt down and female teachers being doused in petrol. Many of the thugs carrying out the terrorism are immigrants, all supported by the Left there, with many Palestinian flags on view. Must be serious as even the BBC is reporting on it, albeit with them playing down the aspects I have highlighted.

I only heard about it from a comments section on the Irish News. The current behaviour of the French left is deplorable. They are handing out a warning to those thinking of voting right no doubt. Which will be incredibly counter productive. This is the final straw that could bring the right in.

I seen somewhere that le pens chance sof winning the next presidential election have jumped after the riots last night in france. Unless they try to send her to jail again she should win it.

I see that the Green party lunatics have produced an Orwellian glossary of ‘unacceptable’ language ahead of its conference this weekend. I've put it in this thread as there is no difference between Labour and the Greens.
Its new ‘Inclusive Terminology Guidance’ instructs members to stop using words and phrases including ‘elderly’, ‘female politician’ and ‘mothers and fathers’, ‘able-bodied’, ‘sex-change’, ‘homosexual’, ‘lady doctor’, ‘youngster’ and ‘sexual preference’, ‘lunatic’.
The guidance also provides a list of approved terminology. When discussing race, use the term ‘global majority’, while ‘Brown’ itself should be ‘used with caution’ [was Gordon that bad?].

They bleep out the word "woman". But they will have a couple of Imams keeping an eye on things anyway. Jews will be fair game.

The French election system will find a way to stop it. Either Germany or France go right and how is the EU supposed to work then?

"Democracy"

Ireland politicians wouldn't even let maria sheen run for the Irish presidential election.

Ours is run so that politicians decide everything behind closed doors, regardless of the results. We're too docile, stupid or corrupt to notice.

The coalition agreements are simply between politicians. For example, no Fiana Fail voter voted for Fine Gael but that's what they got.
The only redeeming feature is that Sinn Fein are the biggest party but haven't got in.
Again though, as you say, hardly a democracy. Just more of the same uni party rubbish. A mish mash of pro diversity, welfare hikes and high individual taxation for no services at all. Thatcherite in services provision whilst still being premium cost, whilst benevolent in welfare to keep the votes coming in. With no accountability or auditing. You see it everyday, I see it every day - time for some to open their eyes. Instead, we pontificate to everyone else about how great we are.
You'd think the country was founded yesterday and that somehow Britain, The US and Israel are our enemy, whilst jihadism doesn't exist - despite it having reared its head here several times before.
Just change the flag to Palestine and the official religion to Islam and get it over and done with.
