Labour Party politics

I recall devouring some 'Harveys' tipple in a Lewes Public House several years ago.
I got involved in a contretemps with a temulent Brighton supporter who was informed that my eagle would eat his seagull, bones and all.
Oh dear willo. You really need to engage brain before marf.
Although weed fans can be a little arrogant and create a reason to get annoyed quite easily 😁

Indeed.
Lewes also houses Law Courts and a prison.
Far too close to Brighton for my liking !

Apropos politics, Lewes have never been represented by a Labour MP.
When you enter the Black Horse (top of the town) the prison is very obvious as you are queueing at the bar alongside a couple of dozen prison wardens, the Law Courts have seen a few Famous trials the Brighton Suitcase murderer, the acid bath John Haigh, Roy Whiting, the Billie J
o Jenkins trial etc. I fully appreciate that Lewes is a wealthy area and the Liberals have had a few successes.

The nicest pub is the Brewers Arms, after matches it is either full of Brighton Supporters or Lewes supporters. Outside it has a relief of ornate Page and Overton signs a Croydon brewer from yesteryear, Overton 's Yard is still an alley off of Surrey Street.

For nearly 30 years, Lewes have been represented by 3 MPs, 2 of whom are 'Liberal Democrats'.
Certainly not a target Labour seat, at the General Election, the candidate secured less that 7% of the vote.

what are the chances of Keir following the fashion-lead of some of the fellas in the links below ? and as usual Keir, for legal reasons, i am only asking the question ?

Keir Starmer is a democrat what mental aberration makes you compare him to a dictator, i'm only asking the obvious question or should i ask your phycologist? For legal reasons your post is certifiable.

Keir is going to have to have a policy on domestic issues soon enough. Staying quiet and letting Trump get him votes will only last so long.
Doctors' strike will start to bite. Other issues not going away.
The doctors had a good pay rise and a decent offer this year, Streeting and Starmer are looking like the good guys and the doctors are looking daft for not accepting bumper money.

I thought part of the problem is bizarrely that too many doctors are getting qualified and there aren’t enough jobs for them to fill. They are then stuck with the educational debt but without the vocation they studied for. Meanwhile on the South Coast even more doctors arrive…

I think you are correct, the South coast needs all the doctors it can get Bexhill and Eastbourne are not called god's waiting room without cause. Doctor's like Bodkin Adams have made a killing there.

If it’s God’s waiting room you don’t necessarily need doctors as presumably you’re assuming that the residents are past help. Anyway,20,000 qualified doctors but no training courses for them and therefore no employment for them after years of studying and expense. Not a good situation.

Bodkin Adams found it very lucrative.

Bodkin Adams certainly did, he made more than one killing, quite a few!

Got away with them too.

🙂
