People tend to just blame the current government even when it's not necessarily their fault. Nobody is listening to blaming the Tories anymore. If you blamed global affairs more than the current government, people might consider that.

Comparisons are always made.

Pub lunch with friends, couldn't be better.👍
Lucky the pub is still open under this Govt

UK growth forecast in 2026 revised to 0.7%, the low hanging fruit is energy costs, cut the net zero elements of fuel bills for every consumer including businesses. The Milliband madness unchecked is literally ruining the economy. Zero carbon UK reducing world emissions by 1% is meaningless in the great scheme of things. If anyone can argue sensibly as to why the UK should self harm please discuss. The false renewables narrative and the " jobs " can be discounted. Solar panels are a Chinese industry items, well paid " green " jobs are a myth unless you have your head in the green trough like the GBE executives

There is definitely a London bubble when it comes to spending on going out. I live in Beckenham every other shop is a coffee bar or restaurant they are all packed. When I go to central London it's the same.

I suspect that outside of the London bubble things are a lot harder for the hospitality sector.

That is a very charitable view some Cafes, Barber shops, Nail Bars are money laundering operations for O.C.G's and something for the weekend ( Barbers Shops) has a different connotation.

Energy security. Never mind the green agenda, imagine this country wholly fueled by nuclear and other renewables.

It is a worthy aim.

Rolls Royce are planning to building small modular reactors (nuclear) on several sites , about sixteen the first will be Wylfa in Wales.

It’s all bollox. Relative poverty my arse as a report yesterday. It’s just another way to snatch more money from the workers to give to the shirkers.
Bet not all people in the bars and coffee shops actually have a job or their partners.

Another half arsed report (poor journalism) from the BBC.

I have every sympathy with the young man and his mother. But as usual it's what the report doesn't say.

""But his younger brother Jack, who is autistic and non-verbal, will only be eligible to apply sometime after 6 April when he finishes being home schooled.

This means he could receive £200 less a month than Logan, and mum Erika says that is keeping her up at night.""

As I said I have every sympathy for his condition. But his mother is complaining that they will lose £200 per month. More accurately he will only get an EXTRA £200 per month. So I am not clear due to the poor journalism why will the family struggle? It's extra money.

If him reaching 16 means that he will lose another benefit then the BBC should explain that. The report seems to indicate though that he will not get as much extra money as they hoped. Well sorry about that
but we don't always get what we want in life.

This is just corruption of the highest order and again - is the Government treating us like fools.
We all know why it got "stolen".
It is pathetic and on top of that the BBC are not reporting it as it is an inconvenient truth.
I despise Starmer & Co more that I can ever express on here.
The BBC are reporting it.

Don't make stuff up.

Good story though. Too conspiratorial to be anything but true.
