Killian Phillips seems to have hit a really good patch of form at St Mirren. 2 games, 3 goals — not a bad way to start the season, and his reputation seems to be growing.

Obviously I know it’s a level below the Prem, but I always liked him at Palace. From the few glimpses we got of him, I always thought there was a player there. He looked raw, but there was definitely something about him.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if we end up looking back and thinking we sold him a bit too soon. Still only 24 as well.

Apparently on £55k a YEAR and their 2nd highest paid player. Rak-Sakyi and Whitworth are on almost TEN times as much. The crazy world of football.

That's not bad money in Scottish football.
According to Salary Sport for 2026.
Dunfermline paid £991,640 a year.
Palace paid £1,438,690 a week.

The highest paid player in Scotland was Kieran Tierney at Celtic on £50,000 a week. Borna Sosa is on £63,000.

Whatever happened to Scottish football? They had that amazing Celtic team in the late '60s and we had several Scots in our team then or soon after

It's the money. It just isn't there outside a very few players to make it a viable choice. I know a bloke who's played at championship level who gave it up in his mid twenties to take up plumbing with his dad because it paid more and he wouldn't be looking for a job when he was 34.
