Killer Kids in the UK

i believe many stabbings happen with a kitchen-knife purchased just minutes beforehand. Why bother carrying a knife when you can just buy one 'a la Carte'.

The cops cannot do you for carrying a tenner in your pocket.

Perhaps the shops should have an age 21 rating on all knife purchases ?
Perhaps knives should not be sold on the high street at all or only with proof of identity, but an age limit would be a good start.
However, I agree that you can't stop people killing each other if they are determined enough. What we need to do is get knife carriers off the streets with severe sentencing and or deportations.

There is an age limit on selling knives already, just like alcohol, but my guess is that as Sainsbury''s doesn't sell Zombie knives or machetes they are not getting them from the high street.

We weren't talking about those. Just the regular kitchen kind.

Yup my bad just re read the thread. Still not sure what you can do if someone is over 18 and wants to buy a kitchen knife? The age restriction also applies to scissors and all sorts of other implements.
All you can really do is outlaw knives that are used for violence.
For me, it would be mostly about locking perps up for long periods and stopping certain groups from coming here in the first place.
We have made gobsmackingly bad choices in who we have allowed to settle here. Look at the demographic of prisoners to see the proof.

In Dublin, the Algerian refugee-type who stabbed 3 Primary schoolkids. He had been previously caught by the Cops carrying a large knife. They caught him when he was vandalising some cars. Seemingly long-term unemployed.

He was let off with less than a slap on the wrists. And later on those same wrists attacked a Primary school. 3 kids and at least one adult stabbed. Its a miracle nobody died.

Getting back to the topic of the thread.....Soft punishments beget a violent society.

"Prosecutor Alex Chalk KC said the defendant, now 18, did not deny wielding the knife and causing Elianne's death but had pleaded not guilty to murder on the basis that his responsibility was diminished due to his autism. (FFS is this a defence? seems very unfair on other people with autism)

"He drove the knife 12cm into her neck, severing the carotid artery and causing injuries that were unsurvivable."

Mr Sentamu also denies illegal possession of a blade, claiming he had a "lawful reason" for carrying it."
Be interesting to know what the lawful reason was
