Sounds exactly what we need. Lerma, Hughes, Doucoure and Ozoh have their strengths but the attacking threat Wharton and Kamada have (even if they don’t score either) they do not have.

Ridiculous take in my opinion. After a good rest over summer, Hughes will be back to his barnstorming best and should be retained alongside Wharton until Doucoure gets up to speed.

Keem to add more quality though for sure.

Hughes won’t be loaned out. Too important to the team and the only reason he doesn’t feature for us is if someone offers us £6M and offers him guaranteed starts and a 2 year contract. I’d be keen to keep Hughes, at least until January.

Decoure was decent 3 years ago (so was Brenan Johnson) and Hughes was ok, but looked like age had caught up with him last year. Surprised West Ham never came in for Hughes. Just what they need and he would be a main player in the championship.

Maybe be hughes wants to stay even from the bench. He has shown passion in one game that some won’t show their whole career 👌

We certainly can’t rely on him given the situation. Ozoh is currently a fringe player with almost no experience at this level and certainly no track record. We badly need depth in midfield

We have to have a minimum of 8 home grown players over 21 in the 25 man squad. With JRS going and Joe Whitworth probably going on loan again we will be very tight on the limit. I don’t see Hughes going at the moment.

There has also been a presumption that Kamada will pick up where he left off. He has started both seasons pretty poorly and this year has had a WC campaign and turns 30 in a couple of weeks
