Hi all,

As a proud Palace and Croydon FC supporter, I thought I’d start a thread to share regular updates on Croydon FC – your local non-league team playing just down the road at Croydon Sports Arena (Albert Road, SE25 4QL).

I’ll be updating this thread after every match with results, reports, and any major talking points, so you can keep an eye on how the Trams are getting on throughout the season - either as a complement or tonic to the Palace season!

Who are Croydon FC?

Croydon FC, nicknamed The Trams, are a historic non-league club based in South Norwood, just a stone’s throw from Selhurst Park. Founded in 1953, we’ve been part of the local football scene for over 70 years and currently compete in the SCEFL Division One (Step 6 of the non-league pyramid).

Why Give Croydon FC a Look?

  • Very few fixture clashes – With Palace playing in Europe this season (brilliant to say that), most Croydon matches are on Saturday 3 o'clocks or midweek, so you can easily catch both teams.
  • Home fixtures coming up:
    02/08
    – Rochester United
  • 16/08 – Banstead Athletic
  • 23/08 – Bridon Ropes
  • 25/08 – Tooting Bec (Bank Holiday Monday)

(All at Croydon Sports Arena – SE25 4QL)
  • Cheap tickets (and cheap drinks), great local vibe, and a friendly fanbase. Perfect if you’re looking for more live football without breaking the bank.
  • Support grassroots football – Non-league clubs need backing more than ever, and this one’s right on our doorstep.
  • Get involved in our promotion push - we made the playoffs last year and looking strong to go one better this year.

Whether you’re already into non-league or just want to dip your toe in, give this a follow and come along to a match if you fancy it. Would be great to see more red and blue faces supporting the Trams.

Up the Palace 🦅 and up the Trams 💙

All the best,

Chris

Back in the mists of time I attended a match at Croydon Arena when Leatherhead were the visitors. My appearances at the Arena are minimal.
I recall being a contestant in a team taking part in a football quiz in one of the rooms at the clubhouse.Kenny Sansom who was connected to Croydon FC at that time was in the next room.

Can't guarantee Kenny Sansom Willo, but the clubhouse has had a refurb so worth popping by!

Happy to have you post the thread and to update it throughout the coming season, but it will be moved over to *Football Talk as this thread is for all matters Palace.

*I will do this in the morning to give posters a chance to see where it has gone.

Hi Becky, completely understand and thank you for responding. Most of our fanbase are also Palace fans so would do nothing to undermine that or this forum.

Bumpy start to the season has seen Croydon lose their first two games, 2-1 with a last kick of the game to Rochester United and a defeat away to SE Dons this weekend. Croydon will take heart from decent performances and that the two teams are two of the leagues strongest - plenty to bounce back from.

Looking forward, we attack promotion from deep, with 3 home games in a row from this Saturday, followed by next Saturday and bank holiday Monday. Try and squeeze in a game of two to complement your summer fun (see attached schedule).

Corner turned at the weekend with a resounding 4-0 win against Banstead Athletic, which saw us rise well back up the league. Early feelings are we should be well in for a playoff place this season once everything is settled.

Next up, back to back home games this coming bank holiday weekend - one on the Saturday and one on the Monday, both 3pm - see attached. We've also been talking to the Norwegian fans coming over for the Thursday Palace game and expecting to see a few along.
