I had a feeling that Kamada's last two transfers were on a free. And I suspect it's nice to get the signing on fees and higher wages. I didn't look into Kamada - I could be wrong. It's just what I seem to remember hearing.

He went from Frankfurt to Lazio on a free, then to us on a free. Obviously got a good agent and keeps picking up signing on fee's and enhanced wages. I expect looking for his next free move.

I've heard this a few times on here now, but my experience has been that there's a clear signing on fee (large for frees) and a weekly wage. Now, admittedly it could be reported as one sum altogether, but it isn't how it works in contracts.

But we’ve seen Hughes and Wharton in good shooting positions loads of times and the majority of the shots have been pathetic.
Any professional footballer should be able to have a decent shot at goal when the play opens up for them, and it does often enough.
Zero goals from center midfield is not good enough, regardless of them playing as 6s or not.
I bet they ping them in the top corners all the time in training.

Wharton could land a ball in a bucket from 50 yards with backspin, as a pass.
But in all them games can’t kick it in a massive f*ck off goal!

Bang on. People expecting goals from those two holding mids are misunderstanding our patterns of attack and how we're instructed to score goals.

My understanding is that the signing on fee is added to the agreed wage and paid over the length of the contract so that the weekly amount includes the signing on fee. There may be exceptions, and if there are, I doubt Kamada is one of them.

Its the system we've been playing for 2 years now. A system that had us win the cup. And IMO its one of hte main reasons ppl hate Kamada, because fundamentally they dont understand the system we are playing, and hence what he does.

We play with 2 x 6's. 2 defensive midfielders, they are not box-to-box players in this system. They block the center forcing attacks out wide, (where we have a wingback and CB to double up), and move the ball on quickly. Its why we (until recently) are really hard to break down.
They might venture far enough forward to get in a shooting position occasionally, but they are not breaking in to the box. They have a post to man, and they do it with discipline.

Its why our 2 man midfield cope week in week out against 3 man midfields. Because in this set up, its discipline over everything.

Not sure if you're referring to me, here? But if so, a couple of things:

1) I don't hate Kamada. Would never hate someone who wears the red and blue. That's far different and stronger than simply thinking someone isn't very good.

2) Again, I understand the system perfectly. We are on the same page in terms of the role these two CMs play...again, Kamada just doesn't do it as effectively as Hughes does. Otherwise, you've nailed the system perfectly and were singing from the same song sheet here.

UPDATE:

We've just suffered our worst defeat in years, with Daichi offering the defence absolutely no protection whatsoever, giving the ball away and letting them run through him like a knife through butter. As opposed to a clean sheet vs Brighton where Hughes won about 458 tackles and interceptions.

So please, continue to tell me why Kamada and Wharton make the better midfield combination. I don't mean for this to come across as a told you so, although it inevitably will, but it's honestly exhausting.

Think it's unfair to have a go at Kamada all the time. Yes he had an awful game last night, as did one or three others, but he's still been brilliant on the whole over the last year. Unlike JP and Ollie and not forgetting St. Marc, he himself hasn't said he wants to leave, only the media click baiters have. He's been slated unfairly and been the scapegoat when it's not been justified for some time now. Give the lad break

He really hasn't. I'm not sure where this comes from. There was a stretch of games where he put in acceptable performances. I realise that, compared to his first year where he was 3/10 every week, suddenly 6/10 performances feel brilliant...but they're not.

To be fair, he's no more slated than Pino has been or Mateta lately. If you don't perform, you receive criticism. It's all just part of being a professional athlete.

He’s similar to Canvot, he makes some big mistakes that cost us badly, oh and his finishing is appalling.

He’s not fit and yet he gets to start ahead of Hughes who will foul rather than let the opposition waltz through the midfield, as he should. I can’t see an alternate future in that game but I have a feeling at least one of those goals would not have occurred had Hughes been playing.

Yes he’s had some influential games in the past but we look weak when he plays next to Wharton.

Not saying he deserved to start ahead of Hughes who I think should have started too..that's down to Glasner(who should go now). What I'm saying is Kamada gets so much stick from some which is unjustified most of the time and he really has been outstanding at times. Unfortunately not last night though
