And another thing. I just read a comment on the "Glasnerou" thread that maybe he would fine playing as right "10" in the OG system, but that would mean dropping Sarr. I wouldn't be in a hurry to do that right now. Then, assuming a new trainer changes the main system (i say "main" because maybe there may be some options - Plan A, B, C etc) and plays wingers, what do we mean? 4-4-2, 4-3-3? Either way I suspect that Sarr will always be ahead of him unless he (Sarr) plays elsewhere, and i don't mean for another club. Currently the signing still seems weird.

You do need back up in every position. As for formations 4-3-3 with a holding midfielder and two central midfielders. Two wingers and a centre forward. Would have suited our squad. Now, we'll probably need at least one new midfielder. Hopefully a box to box type.

I can see perhaps a 4-4-2 working with Larsen and Sarr playing off him up top with Johnson on the right Wharton and Hughes or Doucoure central and Pino left. Otherwise I struggle to see how Johnson fits into a right sided attacking position as Sarr is so far ahead of him in every metric.

He hasnt. He was rubbish at Tottenham this season. That's why they sold him. They bit our hand off to get their money back.
When we signed him I pointed out that every club Johnson has been at they have been happy to sell him. You have to wonder why?
I hope he comes good but I don't think that's going to happen.

Exactly this.. You have to wonder don't you. It was like when we got Pino from Villareal.. Everyone was raving how he was this great young talent but it just left me wondering why Villareal were happy to let him go for a relatively cheap price.
Cheap price by Premier League standards but still a lot of money for what is a relatively small Spanish club operating on a limited budget in La Liga. I seem to remember some quotes from Villarreal people saying they didn’t want to let him go but couldn’t afford to turn down the transfer fee.

I’m sorry but I’ve watched him closely on numerous occasions and I can’t see where his strengths are. He reminds me a bit of Ahamada, another player who runs about but ultimately achieves very little.
Unless it is a manager thing (neither Frank or Glasner have been able to get anything out of him) and he miraculously starts playing well under our new manager then we need to offload him quickly. I don’t think we’ll get more than £20m for him however so big waste of money, along with our sick notes Franca and Nketiah.
