Israel v Hamas

No, 15% of an F35 jet is British, and they were used by Israel in breaking the ceasefire and throughout the slaughter, and its an art form for British manufacturers to disguise weapons as integrated into other supplies.

I think most people would assume the UK government is lying and complicit, as I do, there is no trust in them.

A 'roget's theosaurus' of lies, more lies and even more lies.

For the UK, palestinian lives are expendable, Israelis are not.

Sir Keir's appearance on LBC, where he said that Israel was entitled to defend itself by denying water food and electricity to civilians, look what has happened, and it has been the UK governments attitude throughout.

Foreign Office says staff should resign if they disagree ‘profoundly’ over Gaza

How deeply is Israel entrenched in the UK government.

I guess the idea of the Foreign Office is diplomatic relationships with all countries. If people are going to have radical viewpoints of any type, the they're not really suitable. So, yes, they can f*** off if they are bringing it to work. I have political viewpoints but I don't bring them to my office or post about them on social media as they would not align with my organisation. It's the way it is for a lot of people.

Agreed. Civil Servants are supposed to be impartial which means they support government policy regardless of which party is in power. If they feel uncomfortable with that as the letter says they should resign.

No Civil Servant is going to mess up their own life (financial planning/mortgage/pension) over Government policy. It's a job for life, and their department is meant to be apolitical.

Not if they are required to do something illegal, that is their concern.

I don't think they have any special protection.

Of course not but who is asking them? If the government's actions are illegal then ministers will carry the can as they are the decision makers. Civil servants are their to carry out their instructions.

This is not about following orders which are illegal but about activist civil servants who aren't getting their way. Do the right then, resign and go protesting.

Sir Humphrey would have the better of you there.

If you suspect your employer is asking you to do something illegal, what do you do?

I can think of a couple of occasions I managed to avoid somehow.

There are certain parts of the Foreign Office for what you seem to be suggesting. Covered by the official secrets act so not much can be said about it. I'd suggest they're unlikely to be activists or they wouldn't be there. They know what they're doing (arguably!).
This is just talking about average staff. They're not James Bond. They're not even Money Penny if you catch my drift. They're pen pushers working on visas etc.

The Foreign Office taking action.
The UK has sanctioned two far-right Israeli ministers over "repeated incitements of violence against Palestinian communities" in the occupied West Bank.
Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich will both be banned from entering the UK and will have any assets in the UK frozen as part of the measures announced by the foreign secretary.

Good to see us flexing our muscles on the world stage again.

They won't be able to visit London for shopping weekends.
