Israel v Hamas

BBC currently describing Hamas as " Palestinian armed group ", disgraceful

"A Hamas official told the BBC that members of the Palestinian armed group's negotiating team were a targeted during a meeting. It was not clear whether any of them were killed.

The IDF says it "conducted a precise strike" and those targeted "are directly responsible for the brutal October 7 massacre".
 
And Bowen was quick to mention a warrant for war crime investigation out for Bibi although forgot about anything the terror group had done. Given that Bibi will be in Downing street soon to chat to Starmer it should be an easy arrest. But no, maybe the UN is just Arab dominant and that warrant is from Arabs who aren't our allies.

By the way, Israel appear to have learned a great deal from us during the Mandate and "Arab Revolt" in the 30s. Collective punishment, demolishing houses etc., all proud legacies handed down by the British. Makes you glow with pride.

As I don’t know your age I won’t suggest it’s your excuse for not knowing much!

Judaism is the religion. Being Jewish is much more complicated than that, and many Jews are not religious. In fact there are a significant number who are either agnostic or atheist.

One of my grandparents was born into a Jewish family but converted to Christianity on marriage. Hence, by one metric, I regard myself as, ethnically, a quarter Jewish. I am also atheist.

My solution? To what? To finding a way to replace the hold the ultra nationalist right have over Netanyahu? To finding a way to ensure the terrorists in Gaza are replaced by those who simply want to live in peace and harmony? For without both no real solution exists.

You accuse me of not knowing much? I've literally given you an extremely simple way of Jewish determination and you STILL argue. Practicing Judaism has nothing to do with it. You can't be half or a quarter, you are or are not you absolute cretin.

He did call Jews 'unique' on here while then going on to argue that white people don't exist as a distinct group.

Personally I don't know why someone would deny any group their obvious ethnic rights unless they.....well you know.

Ultimately, while I can understand heritage and have a mix myself I agree, people have to pin their flag to a mask.

This pick n mix runs down and weakens a country.

I kind of agree with Starmer.

It is the policy of students.....I don't agree with a two state solution but I do think negotiation is better than virtue signalling.

The USA is really Israeli occupied territory, and Starmer is likely therefore to be the same.

Student politics are a lot better than his - Vietnam and Iraq wars for example.

How could the two party state solution be possible now.

The core power players in the US....in my opinion.....are Wall Street/donors and Mossad/CIA.

Politically America's shogun is a combination of corruption (Wall Street/donors) and blackmail (security services). Who gets to rule is a filtered system, who gets funded to Congress and who gets funded against....essentially democracy is largely a lie in America.....it does exist but it's a gamed system.

Demographic shift is going to change all this but most of us on the forum will be dead by that time.....The recognition of this is largely why what is going on in Palestine is happening now.....they are taking their chance while it's there.

In Britain it's not at anything like this level.....largely because what we do in the world is largely irrelevant. When we were important, we had the same pressures but leaders actually pushed back much more.

The last US president to seriously challenge the forces above was Kennedy.

Anyway with Starmer, I believe the reason he asks just how high to jump when America or Israel ask is due to the fact that economically we can't afford the shock of losing favoured status with America.....it's 22 percent of our trade.....And if you upset Israel you upset America for the reasons stated above.

Starmer simply can't afford it.

That's my take anyway.
