Yes, in Khartoum, Heston plays Gordon. Which kind of works well because they are both eccentric weirdos.

Laurence Olivier played the Mahdi, which would cause the film to be stopped today. But since they probably would have race swapped Gordon and he would end up being played by Cynthia Erivo, I'm kind of glad that there isn't a push to make a remake.

I would argue that you have:
- Israel vs Hamas
- Non-US West vs Israel
- The poor of Arab countries vs Israel
- The rich of Arab countries vs Hamas
- And US tax dollars somehow funding both Israel and Hamas.
