Is this season a bit dull ?

I know I am risking a lot of abuse of the "you ungrateful b*****d" variety, but is anyone else finding this league season a bit tedious ? Our matches don't matter as much as usual because we have been safe for several weeks. The agony of Saturday afternoons is much less, and the ecstacy of a win has been replaced by a gentle satisfaction.

Of course I should be delighted, but it's not quite as exciting as flirting with danger and then pulling clear. I might change my mind if we win the cup of course.
For me what was getting boring was the team hovering above the relegation zone then climbing away from trouble and finishing 14th year after year. In truth we haven't been in a proper relegation battle for ten years. A proper one meaning taking it almost to the last day. We were always well clear of trouble long before the end of the season.
I think its refreshing to be looking up instead of down and for the first time in a long time we are battling on two fronts. The cup and finishing as high up the table as possible.
I'd say as a Palace fan this season is probably shaping up to be the most satisfying and exciting maybe ever!

Tedious is watching a Roy Hodgson team for what seemed like 150 seasons, this is great. Other results are going our way at the moment and its not impossible for a late euro push if we keep up the unbelievable form we're in. Next season top 4 if the OG signs a new deal and someone finds out why Eze has turned to shite and sorts him out.

Not that Palace could do anything about it but it would have been more exciting if only Olise had stayed. According to the CIES Football Observatory, whatever you think of them, has him as the best all-round attacker in the world
"The Bayern Munich’s French international is ahead of Barcelona’s Spaniard Lamine Yamal (87.7) and Bayer Leverkusen’s German Florian Wirtz (85.0). The top 10 also includes two Brazilians (Vinícius and Savinho), two Frenchmen (Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué), an Englishman (Bukayo Saka), an Egyptian (Mohamed Salah) and a Dutchman (Noa Lang)."

I think it's a problem with most teams in the prem with backwards and sidewards football it's a bit boring, I do miss the direct style of football played in the 80s n 90s

What a team that was. I don’t do star struck but was lucky enough to meet several of this team and was like a 6 year old kid. That season we finished 3rd was so good.

Can't believe what I'm reading. We're one of the form sides in Europe, still have half a chance of getting into Europe via the league or winning the FA Cup and people are bored!

And as for not wanting us to qualify for Europe, what exactly are trying to achieve as a club then? Just finishing 12th until we all die?

I'd love absolutely nothing more than telling my Mrs that I'm off to Bruges or Seville or Lisbon for the night to get smashed and watch Palace play!

Let's not forget that our manager has won a European trophy as well. Dare to dream I say.
