Is the lack of training time killing us

I am wondering if the lack of training time at the training ground is taking its toll. We all know that Ollie is a technical hands on manager who drills the team constantly. I am wondering with what he said that all they are doing is playing and then doing light warm ups and warm downs etc and doing analysis rather on field tactics, is this why we are seeing a sharp decline in performance (not helped by our right side being injured or away). Is this why JP is reverting to type.

Think about how Ollie says he needs time to work with his players his own words were that he needs time and about 6 weeks training to get a player to understand his system and what he expects.

This to me makes the most sense much more than the players just being knackered although I’m sure they are they are all Professional Athletes so should be able to cope.

Thoughts?

At the moment they should be working on defending long throws ,corners ,free kicks .
Can’t be to strenuous .
Some shooting practice ,but that’s been a while now .

I am sure that the lack of training sessions are having an effect on our performances. Almost every manager in press conferences state that they need to sort the issues out on the training pitch. Every player says that they need to show how good they are on the training pitch.COYP.

Sure, we'd benefit from more targeted training time before each match. But as you pointed out, the much greater problem is the absence of Muñoz, Sarr, and Kamada, along with the slump of Mateta. Defensively, in the past month we've simply made more individual mistakes that were punished, than we made in the first 3 months of the season.

training is important, yet the balance between recovery has to be determined by our coaching staff and manager. You may argue that the team had been rested and had probably trained. clearly up until now our ability to defend set pieces has been good quite why the team got it wrong on Saturday is a bit of a mystery to me. On a positive note I didn't feel the team as a whole was any less committed to the cause and each other.
