I am the first one to say that palace have stayed up this long by playing pragmatic anti football of some degree, and that the devil is in the detail insofar as succeeding is concerned - palace players must surely turn up to work knowing they are average but that a really good coach can organise them into being hard enough to beat that personal career aspirations become realistic.
Nuno obviously ticks those boxes, perhaps more than Dyche.
Thing is, I felt like he took the West Ham job far too soon after such an unjust sacking at forest, and that he seemed absolutely spent in every interview as well as on the sidelines. These things take their toll, emotional energy matters as well as tactical nouse. Now he's been sacked again. What state is he in?
If he's on the warpath and fuming then great, get him in. If he's still sulking about how it's all gone in recent years, or really, really needs a break then don't go near him.
We need both know-how and energy.
