I can see why the US have made Israel their new choice State for a special relationship with in all but name .
The UK have gone from the Worlds most powerful military nation to a mini and limited rapid response army with a Nuclear deterent supplied by the US .
Infact the UK struggles to arm and provide troops for a basic reactionary force as this war has highlighted ..
The flip side is we are becoming a less important military target as the decades pass and can be easily neutralised by destroying a couple of warships and cutting an underwater power cable etc ..
It’s all fine and Dandy having Nuclear subs floating around the world but everyone knows they won’t be used until the UK has already been wiped out ..

I am not sure there is a single part of this post that is supportable.

Israel are nothing but trouble and cost to the US.

The only theoretical positive to Israel for the west is that it stops the rise of a new Otterman empire by disrupting and dividing the states around it. But I doubt that this is the actual thinking behind it.....It's pure and simple bribery from Jewish billionaires, if I'm frank.....either individuals or lobby based, which amounts to the much the same thing.

The US fund Israel's military and their welfare state.....The US literally give bribery payments to its surrounding states willing to accept them to keep the peace with Israel, such as Egypt and Jordan.

The religious differences between Iran and its own surrounding states means that this is less of a concern for the US.

But mark my words, if Iran are eliminated, then you will be hearing about how problematic and dangerous Qatar is and how Turkey is aggressively anti Israel......It's all about a greater Israel with no opposition to it.

Nothing to do with me what happens in the middle east, however I say it how I see it......the manipulation and foreign influence is obvious......Israel is only an ally to itself.....If you have nothing to give it doesn't want to know.

We were the ones who gave Israel the chance of its state and back a hundred years ago we were the superpower......and guess who wealthy Jewish millionaires of the day were funding......It was our politicians rather than the US's politicians.

I read an article the other day about oil it pointed out that there are 2 pipelines that can carry oil to and don't need to go through Iran. Both were rarely used until now and are at about 80% capacity. One of the regional countries friendly to the west (I forget) is now planning to build a third one.

It wont help non oil shipping but if the west support it we can just bypass Iran.

Running at full capacity but falling well short on supply.
The way it's going I doubt the pumping station is for this world much longer plus the Houthis have said they'll close the red sea if the US put troops in Iran.

To be fair to the American Christian right, you are referring to a subsection of it. Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson....who are probably the two biggest social media commentators are both American Christians for example and very much opposed.

The Christian right in the US are and were subjected to particular messaging for decades, but since the rise of the Internet that messaging has had counter narratives to go with the passing of the generations.....Not forgetting the psychological impact of the outcome of ventures like the Iraq war....which damaged the self confidence of many on the right who initially supported it and turned them anti neo con.

With the Iran war, the coalition of the US right is hopelessly split......Charlie Kirk was a pivotal figure in holding that political 'church' together. Now it's fragmented into two camps clawing at each other's necks.

I honestly think the GOP need to ditch Trump for any hope in the mid terms and 2028.......and that's with probably the worst Democrat opposition we have ever seen in America......They would win by default of there being no other option.

Does any western country support the US on this one? I stand to be corrected but it seems that the only country supporting it is Israel and those relations seem to be strained now.
I’ve also had a bee in my bonnet about this ceasefire and both sides arguing about its terms. Well apparently it was never written down!! WTF! Sharif posted what he thought he had agreed but both US and Israel say different. What a s*** show.
